Sitting on the Palantine sits the old and distinguished home of the Furii. This old patrician family is headed by the middle aged lawyer Agrippa Furis Camillus. Descended from the famous Camillus, Second Founder of Rome he hopes to again see a Furia on the Roll of Honour.
The domus is a modestly decorated house; the atrium is by far the most lavish room. Ornate chairs and tables with bowls full of grapes and figs surround the glistening pool. On the wall are the death masks of the many Furii who have gone before Agrippa. One day his shall join them.
The distinguished Senator mostly sits in his study. Reading histories or case studies for the law courts. It isn't covered in decoration, but to the discerning eye it can be seen to hold quality furniture, the type an old family does not throw out. Here is the desk made from timber salvaged from Punic ships, or the shelves full of scrolls made from walnut from Campagna. Apart from a small Greek design running near the ceiling, the walls are free from paint, only finished in white wash. The large window blows in fresh, scented air from the garden, home to a small orchard of fig, pear and apple trees, as well as allowing large amounts of natural light to flood the working space of the Senator.
To his friends and political allies the door is always open.
