    Icon1 faction religions?

So i recently bought medieval 2 and expansions. game was too easy even as begginer, once you learn basics you can win. So i checked out mods, first mod was TATW which led me to this. Great work btw ive never had so much fun in a campaign before. i actually lost a city to the AI for teh first time (marcile i think it is as the moors to kingdom of aragon) anyways just wondering if there is a list showing you who the muslim factions are who teh catholic factions are who teh pagans are and who the orthodox are. Ive already won as england on the vanilla game so im trying the Moors and i want to try out the other 2 religions. also i heard mongols are pagan? do they turn to muslims later on in the game?

You can click on the "faction overview" shield and then have a look at the diplomacy window. There will be the religion for each nation if You move the cusor over the shields.

The Mongols are pagan and they remain that way. The Timurids are Muslim.

Mongols / Cumans / Lithuania are Pagans

Moors / Kwarezm / Turks / Egypt / Timurids are Muslims

Byzantium / Kiev / Novogorod are Orthodox

    Everyone else is Catholic.

Though if you setup and log the ai the (orthodox) factions come back as default as well as the mongols. Only the catholic factions, islam factions and lithuania actually play as there real religion. You would have to alter the campaign script to fix it yourself.

That's because there is no orthodox ai_label in the campaign AI. And the mongols do have their own ai_label.

What do you mean by "default" and "play as their real religion"?

So the Orthodox factions are not really Orthodox, or what is he trying to say?

Each faction is given an AI label in descr_strat. This label corresponds to a section of the AI that tells the game how a faction should react to different situations. So, for example, the catholic AI label could tell factions to invade Islamic factions more than orthodox. As there is no specific AI label for orthodox factions, they are set to the default AI label.

So they treat everyone the same way regardless of their religion?

No it just means that they treat everyone however the default AI label is set up. Not sure what it means exactly without going through the AI file.

The default AI is being the simplest one that is it does all the normal defense and offence things in game, while for catholics etc their AI is somewhat designed to handle the relations between themselves.
Like in Teutonic campaign one might remember that Teutonic order cools down after when Lithuania converts to Christianity (game event) that is coz after that event their AI labels are changed.
