Default BC's King Richard's portrait question

Although not much, i was really pleased with the icon portraits of KoJ & the Ayyubids from Kingdom of Heaven like King Baldwin IV, Balian of Ibelin, Saladin, Al Aziz etc etc so, i expected King Richard's portrait icon to be like them from Kingdom of Heaven, in fact i noticed that King Richard's portrait from Kingdom of Heaven is indeed included with all the others in the data/ui/custom_portraits, but during the KoJ campaign, when King Richard arrived with the new crusaders near Acre, his portrait wasn't that one from Kingdom of heaven (which i really wanted) but a vanilla portrait of a baldguy with pencil mustache not because he's bald, tho it looks odd, but I expected to have Richard's portrait from kingdom of heaven, especially when he's included in the Ui/custom_portraits,

i know this doesn't sound of great importance to many but to me it is, if its possible, & i really, really like to have king Richard with the portrait from Kingdom of Heaven, now that there's all the others. So, my question is, can i give King Richard the same portrait from the ui/custom_portraits, the one from kingdom of heaven?? if yes, which files must i edit???

I wish that in BC3, they may base him on his second seal during the campaign battles. (please ?!)

I think you need to open campaign_script.txt, find
    Code:
    character	Richard, named character, age 30, x 94, y 113, family
line and add ", portrait richard" at the end of the line.

You will need to remove map.rwm and restart the campaign.

    i'm having some problems here, i added ', portrait richard' after 'family' in the campaign_script like this;

    ;; spawn at acre
    spawn_army
    faction france
character Richard, named character, age 30, x 94, y 113, family, portrait richard
    traits GoodCommander 3 , PublicFaith 1 , Loyal 4
    unit Richard exp 9 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0

i removed the map.rwm file & restarted the koj campaign & when after 1190 i lose Acre or Jaffa or both at once & reqest pope's assistance nothing happens, no crusades called or arrive, & i kept trying to see if he calls it later on, & started many koj campaigns to be sure, losing those settlements each time & request pope assistance, but unlike before, the pope doesn't even call a crusade

also, is it normal that the game creates again the map.rwm file?? cos although i'm sure i deleted it, each time i open the base file there will always be another map.rwm file...

Yes, it is normal that map.rwm regenerates.

Regarding the crusade, I'm not sure why it doesn't appear. Check the system.log for errors.

If there aren't any, remove "family" entry from the character's line and check the campaign one more time.

Next thing is that custom portraits in the script may be Kingdoms feature, so they won't appear for spawned armies - but I'm not sure about this. You need to experiment yourself.

no luck mate, tnkx anyway but i think its how u said earlier, that it doesn't work on spawned armies

    A pity.

Though I assume it works for spawned armies, because TATW uses such feature (it's in the script) - but TATW is for Kingdoms.

well, just because i couldn't enter from the door doesn't mean i can't enter from the window,

i went for 'plan b' i couldn't get King Richard in the 'Kingdom of Heaven' portrait, but he looked so odd & rediculous without hair & in pencil mustache so i decided to create my own king Richard & Emperor barbarossa

After spending some time making some edit-tries i was able to learn how to take a rebel settlement into my koj faction & how to create a commander in it, name him & put his portrait
so, i took Amorium & Famagusta into my koj faction & created a general with traits & all in Amorium as Emperor Fredrick Barbarossa & another in Famagusta as King Richard the Lionheart, both with their portraits, names, & stuff

its true that its historical inaccuracy that they'r both in the holyland a bit earlier than 1190-91 now, but what the hell? at least, not having some funny bald looking dufus for King Richard or Emperor Barbarossa . Now i'm kicking some serious butt in the holyland with Barbarossa & Richard rather than battling saladin, the seljuks & Kilij Arslan II with guys like Raynald de Chatillon, Balian of Ibelin or Guy de Lusignan hehehe of course King Baldwin IV is an exception.
