Help needed skinning shields
I am currently trying to reskin the shield of the barbarian levy spearman in BI. In adobe photoshop half the shield is displayed and i have drawn the pattern on it i require but when i go to look at it in the game the other half of the shield is upside down.
I am sure the problem is in the cas file but i cant find the solution in 3dsmax despite many hours toying around with it(the half shield is mirrored but is then flipped). Any help will be greatly appreciated .

the shield is not really mirrored, there are to seperate elements that make up the shield, select one of them only and flip it

In your case mate, im afraid that whats happened is that you may have drawn on the whole pattern on half of the shield, so it will also flip that pattern onto the other side. Those skins were designed to be made simetrical, ie you only draw on half of the deisgn, but then it gets flipped s it matches up on the second half..........which may be what is causing you your problem.

No i have drawn half the pattern on half the side of the shield in photoshop so that the pattern should be a mirror image of it on the other half of the shield. In nearly all the skins i have practiced with the result in the game is a symetrical pattern on the whole of the shield. unfortunately with this model the other half of the shield is upside down . somehow the cas file is flipping the other half of the sheild skin and i cant figure out how to reverse it so i can have a symetrical pattern. the answer lies in 3ds max somewhere. I have been toying with around with 3ds max since balbors reply but i cant isolate the half of the shield that is not on the skins map . I can see the two elements of the shield on the model but dont know how to select just 1 so i can flip it.Thanks for the suggestion though

use the select element, you can either select just the element that is up-side-down and then use the edit uvw, or when editing the uvw, there is a little tick box for elements, so when you select something is seects the whole element
