    Default Diplomat sees spy

Does anyone know how/why a diplomat could see another faction's spy if no one else was around? (see screenshot).

This shouldn't be possible unless there is a player spy or watchtower about.

This Hungarian spy has been following my Danish diplomat from Nicaea (Hungarian) up to Iconium (Turkish) for about 4 turns. I can see the spy at the beginning of each new turn. The nearest Danish spies are in Sarkel (Rebel) and Zagreb (Venetian), and none were around at the start of this situation. Obviously, having a longer move the spy could have moved well beyond the diplomat if he wanted.

The level 4 diplomat has no ancilliaries, and no special abilities (well, beyond diplomatic genius). The Danes are allied to both Hungary and Turkey, but these are are neutral to each other. They ran out of Byzantine empire to separate them some turns back when Hungary took Nicaea and Turkey took Smyrna and I think they're getting twitchy with each other.

PS. I've taken to keeping a settlement at around 60% catholicism to recruit diplomats. They seem to come out with much better stats (like this one, who is about 8 turns old).

Well I guess the diplomat was from the DSF (Danish Special Forces xD) who performed numerous mission that let the Danish conquered all Northern Europe, got retired and was given a diplomatic position, but he still have those especial commando abilities.

The Spy was following him? mmmmm the Hungarians are spying you?

my only guess is the allies position with the Hungarians, something similar happened to me with a French assassin, Maybe that status of allies let you detect the other faction spies and assassins, apart from that I don't see another explanation (except from the one proposed above) maybe I may be wrong, someone know?

I have go with pure chance. I haven't experienced anything that suggests that there may be more to it.

My guess is the spy was ejected from the city on the previous turn and not moved away for whatever of reasons.
