r:tw gold version on steam

I have the gold version on steam and i installed the mod like you guys said. I know there is a topic for this error: Error: Filename doesn't exist : data/animations/SG 01 idle 01.cas, but could you explain me more detailed what i need to do? I reisntalled this game like 2 times and tried several times to make it work but I always get the same error.


I installed the mod and placed all the files on my desk in 1 document then i installed at the right directory: c/program files/steam/steamapps/common/rome total war/ ,but when i run the launcher and select any campaign it gives me the same error.

or maybe its just me who did it wrong...

I have this error when I install RSII directly in program files. If you install this mod on your desktop and after you cut/paste in the correctly folder, the error disappears. It's specified in the installation post of the mod.

Hello, how exactly did you do this? I followed all instructions and keep getting the error "skeleton javelin". I just don't know what I could be doing wrong? A step by step would be great. I have Steam version Gold with Alexander on Win 7 installed in Program Files x86. Thanks for any help.

Ok I am a steam user aswell and I got this to work for myself and also assisted my friend. Step by step.
It was very annoying first time so I have taken extra care not to confuse. If any of you are insulted in the simplicity of this walk-through please dont be offended, its just not to get people confused and irritated.

1) You make a folder on your desktop and entitle it Roma Surrectum 2, were you put all the cabinet files and the installers into.

2) You make another folder on your desktop maybe this time entitled RS2, now go back to your "Roma Surrectum 2" folder and run the installer.

Your direct the extraction process to your second folder were all the files will appear; ready for step 3.

3) When the extraction process has completed you go to your second folder. In this folder there should be a vast number of folders there.

Now go to your main directory for rome in your steam folder.

What you want to do to make this work is to copy and paste the contents in your "RS2" folder into the main directory of your Rome folder.

The copy and pasting should take maybe a few minutes. Some icons should appear saying "Do you want to copy and replace this file?". In response click yes to copy and replacing, do this for every file (there is a button at the bottom of the popup box that you can check to copy and replace it for all files, so your not clicking for 200 different files ).

Step 3 is done.

What you want to do now is, if a launcher has not already been created on your desktop, you go to the folder launcher in your rome main directory and click on the .exe file which will bring up the installer.

If again your having issues it is bound to be that your rome folder's at fault, before you installed the mod and bares no responsibility on the mod.

If you have issues please re-install your copy of rome and re-do this process, in which should result in a working edition of Roma Surrectum 2.

ah i see now that i was installing the files straight into the c/ drive and not another, seperate folder. Thanks alot for this Lil Jazzer

Lil Jazzer, thank you so much for the step by step instructions. I've tried to install this mod double digit times and every time ended with frustration. Not sure what I did differently, I thought I was following instructions to the T. Anyways, thank you again, I can't wait to play this damn mod finally!!!! I'm nearly about to tear up.
