I can only say one thing. I used to get a "gift" (just a bag with delicious candy) on Christmas, and maybe a toy. But that only meant for kids. Not adoults.
Hey there is also a tradition in Serbia that on Christmas, who ever comes first in your house, pokes the fire*, and the host gives him something (when I was a kid I got money for that, but I don't know if it's mandatory). Does any other Balkan country have the same thing?

Kosovo is Serbia! If you don't believe me, read a book.

I remember the first person in the house would carry an apple and the host would poke coins in the apple. Used to get allot of money like that.

@SerbianInfantry- In Bulgaria we have that tradition on the 20th of December "St. Ignatius Day" (Ignajden). The first person to enter your house is treated as a special guest and has to poke the fireplace.. It is believed that the next year will depend on the luck of that person. From "Ignajden" to Epiphany day -6th of january - the days are considered "unclean" and you have to be careful if you go outside during the night

Happy New Year to all TTW fans and let our present this year is to be able to play the mod

We have Koledari or Churonje (differs from part to part), but I can't remember if it's for Christmas or Easter.

    And a happy New Year

"At first we were confused. The East thought that we were West, while the West considered us to be East. Some of us misunderstood our place in the clash of currents, so they cried that we belong to neither side- and others that we belong exclusively to one side or the other. But I tell you, Irenaeus, we are doomed by fate to be the East in the West and the West in the East, to acknowledge only heavenly Jerusalem beyond us, and here on earth--no one." - St. Sava (of Serbia) to Irenaeus, 13th century

In Hungary children get a small bag of chocolate on St Nicolaus day, 6th of December. During communism he was renamed to Father Winter - Télapó.
On Chrismas people give gifts here. But many have lost in gifts and perfectionism therefore they are angry on Christmas day.
Currently there are no fire related customs.

Actually it's the same in Romania, we celebrate St Nicholas on 6th Dec and children get presents and then we celebrate Christmas on 25th Dec and children get presents again BTW that Santa Invasion mod is absolutely hilarious, great job ))
