The Big Bang THEORY is just a THEORY, an idea with very little evidence. Yes I know there is SOME evidence, like the universe expansion, etc... but nothing worthy of saying its proven. So why?

I'm in full agreeance. We need to expose other similarly unsupported scientific ideas, such as: germn THEORY, the THEORY of gravitation, atomic THEORY, cell THEORY, etc. Basically, what we need to do is throw out all of modern science and return to the dark ages. Only then will we be able to reach out and grasp at true knowledge.
It should be fairly obvious to anybody that things fall down because GOD makes them fall down. Postulating that it is caused by some natural force is to dabble in sorcery and witchcraft. May the malevolent soul who contaminated this earth with such filth, which is comparable to pornography in its utter vulgarity, be judged appropriately by the Lord!
As for germ theory, atomic theory and cell theory, they too are merely tools of anti-Christian forces. They invent fancy words to use in the classroom so that children ignore the pearls of wisdom in the Bible. For example, the Bible says that God created everything in 6 DAYS. Because he is ALL-POWERFUL and can do ANYTHING that he wants. To even claim, even for an instant, that God took billions of years to create everything that we see today, is no better than claiming that God is mentally or physically disabled and is not worthy of our worship. Those heretical atheists are trying to indoctrinate our children into picturing our Lord as a babbling idiot, drool pouring down his chin and onto his tattered, urine stained trousers.
The bottom line is that science is basically one massive intellectual snuff film, an activity so crude and obscene that a learned man of the Bible would rather perform fellatio on a goat than engage in such a disgusting activity.

'If there is an ultimate meaning to existence, as I believe is the case, the answer is to be found within nature, not beyond it. The universe might indeed be a fix, but if so, it has fixed itself.' - Paul Davies, the guy that religious apologists always take out of context.
Attention new-agers: I have a quantum loofah that you might be interested in.

black-dragon,
A rather elaborate put-down of a very simple reason in my opinion yet something that can easily be explained. Man must see things to believe anything and science is not any less in that respect. So by what is seen and mathematically working back into the mists of time man can accept that the scientists are onto something credible. No-one would argue with that if only it were true.
That it is not is another matter because the alternative is not built only on what is seen but what is believed coming by the Great Unseen. God created all things, doing so in six days, all up and running meaning that what can be seen must in each case appear to be older than it actually is. This has already been proved mathematically because we can explore these things.
Does that therefore mean that God didn't as He says make all this in the six days of creation? No, it does not. All it does is separate the believer in one thing from the believer in another. The one believes the maths and the other believes God. That logic is flung to the winds in the case of the latter does not in any way detract from what can be testified to by the maths, rather it shows that there are powers some have not yet learned of, them being the exception.
Considering how far modern science has brought us in the past 200 years compared to the 2000 years prior to that where religion dictated everything, I'm inclined to believe the Big Bang Theory over God. Why?
There is no evidence whatsoever of God's existance. The Big Bang however is more likely considering it has been proved using modern sciences, technologies and observations.
I don't mind people believing in God, that is totally up to them and as long as it doesn't interfere with my daily life, I'm happy with it.
There is no evidence whatsoever of God's existance
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
I find logic in the possibility of a "Big Bang" phenomenon. I also find logic in the possibility that it "the Big Bang" was Gods creation.

" when are you goijg back to living in a mud hut? Because everything else is based on theories. "
justicar5,
I don't know whether you're talking of what I have written or the theories as yet unproved about how we came to be, nor do I get the mudhut thing since I have never lived in one nor do I intend to. I notice however that all the arguments always come around to God not existing and that because all the opposition don't know Him or worse still He doesn't know them.
That raises something in me that frets for you guys because you see I once belonged to your side of the equation so when I say that Jesus Christ doesn't know you, Him being the Creator, that is frightening to me at least because I now know where I am going but it is obvious that you don't have a clue as to the misery you are fast approaching. We will all die but how and to where is really something that you should think seriously about.
Now as far as this magical Being that some of you talk of, you can bet your last buck on it as being a little more than just magical. I/me and many like me are products of the existence of God but then since you have no scientific answer to that, it becomes you to throw around the usual insults not only about us but about the One who brought you into this world and who will in time take you out of it.
I am not telling you these things for the sake of my health, rather the sake of yours. For the 28 years since my conversion I have never wavered about there being God or His Saviour Jesus Christ, where I have wavered is why me? I don't deserve Him in my life yet He is there lifting me up whenever I get downers and believe me I get enough of those. But these are nothing compared to the place you guys are in.
I care because I was once like you perhaps a lot worse in many ways. I never was an academic. Every job I ever had I worked my way up to being the manager, general manager and in some, director, hiring and firing as I went never giving consideration to anyone but myself and yes even had a fling or two along the way. I was caught out and lost my first family but that didn't stop the burning desire to carry on as normal.
That is until God stepped in to show me a better Way, Him being Jesus Christ. That's when the dreams and visions started and have not stopped. What did stop however was my ability to do the things I needed so badly to do, that being to work. That said God found other things for me to work at and I suppose there are many Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons who can testify to that among others. You see it has always been about believing God something I now have no problem with.
God did all that for you, huh? I find that funny about believers. At the one hand, they try to convert you with stories like, God found me this wife, God made me realize this, God gave me that, and the next moment, they go on about how God doesn't get himself involved in human affairs (like stopping cancer, war and the likes) because there is such a thing like free will or whatever.
Don't get me wrong, if you get something out of it, good for you and carry on. Just don't expect us, incapable or unwilling to demonstrate such blind faith and devotion to something that cannot even remotely be proven with anything that even resembles a fact, to take it as evidence of his existence. Quite frankly, your story accomplishes the exact opposite: my triumphs and failures in life or the product of MY actions, not God. I take pride, or shame, in what I accomplish, and I accomplish it on my own strength and wit. And as to where I'm going after death; waving eternal damnation in front of me like a stick to beat me with if I don't start believing what you believe, that's not an argument. It's clutching at straws.
First of all, I think it's marvellous that you acknowledge it has some evidence, since that alone puts it leagues ahead of God on the proveability scale.
Second, I would like to pose a counter question. Why do you (appearantly, forgive me if I'm wrong) consider God and the Big Bang to be mutually exclusive?
Under the stern but loving patronage of Nihil.
The Big Bang theory is more logical because it is based on evidence and observations. We can measure the direction that stars are moving and through that discover that they are moving away from an single point of origin. As well, we can see that the distance between galaxies is increasing, giving us an idea of how the universe is expanding. We don't know what started it, and we have so many unanswered questions. But it has real evidence.
Whereas with God, there is no testable evidence. All we have are ancient writings by people that claim to have witnessed 'miracles'. Some try to use the complexity of life and things that cannot currently be explained as evidence of God, but that is equally valuable proof of the existence of aliens that hired top scientists to create Earth as an intergalactic reality TV show.
Is it not more logical to believe in something with at least some evidence to support it, than to believe in something with no evidence at all?
This.
People fail to realize its not a matter of believing it. It's the best explanation we have so far. it could be wrong for all we know but we actually do have some observation and evidence to support it. Whereas like above, we have no observation or evidence from something such as a God other than outright assumption. (religious writings are not evidence).
Anyway, i don't even know why the big bang theory contradicts God. Sure it may contradict the creation story, but who's to say if there is a God how he/she made the universe.
I actually think they proved the big bang theory not too long ago.
Support Russia!
You seem think the big bang theory explains "life, the universe and everything", when it doesn't. Noone knows what happened before the big bang, whether there was a "before", what that even means, or why it happened.
The big bang was just something that happened. Your question makes as much sense as asking "why do people think the kinetic theory of gases is more logical than God?". The big bang isn't a religion and don't treat it as one.
However, your post does suggest that your religion is no longer providing you answers to the important questions in life. An important aspect of maturity is realising than questions like "why do we all exist?" and "what happens when we die?" will never be answered. It's the painful truth.
can you proove that other members of the human race aand everything else in the universe exists? Perhaps you're the only thing that exists, in some kind of simulation, your world a mere illusion. Try prooving otherwise.

Uhh...the big bang theory is a theory in the way gravity is a theory. And no one takes the big bang theory over God, they take a materialistic atheistic world view over God. A better question is why ignorant Atheists and ignorant theists create this false dichotomy?

I don't technically believe in either.
I'll accept the Big Bang theory for the time being because it has some evidence and there is no other idea put forth at the moment that has any. Soon as something with more evidence comes along I'll go with it.
For those that don't believe in supernatural creator beings there is no false dichotomy because said being couldn't have caused the Big Bang due to it's not existing... Thus the Big Bang or whatever scientifically supported theory may eventually take it's place is the WHOLE.
