Help to patch Vanilla rome total war

Need help to patch this game.i got a clean Rome total war install and the first patch worked fine, but the 1.3 wouldnt install, so when i tell it to repair(reinstall) it does but then when i try and install the 1.5 it says it will only uppdate versions 1.3 (as if i hadn't installed it yet),i did look in game later and saw it still says i got it patched to 1.2 but cant get it further than that.and i havent used the default install folder,created my own map.Do i need BI or/and alexander expansions to get the game patched up to 1.5 or how does this work.hopefully you guys can help me just want to try out the mod roma surrectum II thx in advance

It could a bad download, too. Have you tried a fresh download of 1.3?

Got 2 different 1.3 patches i have downloaded,and when i try to install 1.3 patch i just get the options modify,repair and remove.i click modify and proceded but still says version 1.2 in Rome TW.not shure what to now
