HELP ME I WANNA PLAY MTW2 GOLD

Hello people,

I have got sum problems with playing MTW2 Gold Edition.
I installed the game and the expansions. But when I try to start the game I can find the normal mode without expansions but it isn't lighten up and clickable. only the expansions; Medieval II Total War Teutonic, Medieval II Total War Britannia, Medieval II Total War Crusades and Medieval II Total War Americas are lighten up and clickable. When I tried to start 1 of them it says: mss32.dll error.
Well I downloaded it and put it in all my folders of the expansions and main map of MTW 2. Now when i start the game it gives a error. (I made a picture of it) I tried to reinstall a couple of times, but it didn 't work. I played this game previous year, and it worked. After it became boring (sorry guys =]) i quit playing and uninstalled. So it worked before but I can't remember what the difference is between now and previous year. Only that it did work without the expansions. Sorry for the bad pictures, and they're dutch. So I'll translate: Can't find Entrypoint of the procedure _AIL_init_stream@16 in file mss32.dll.

A long story short: I'm in a big pile of poo, and plz help me out =]

When you installed before, did you delete all Medieval II Total War folders? Did you run a registry cleaner after that?

Mss32.dll is on the first disc. If you can't start vanilla, your install is bad. You need a fresh install.

Hey Irishron,

I was being pretty stupid, because when my computer told me that it had too little space I decided to delete some things. The stupid thing was that I just threw the whole map into the trashcan. And then deleted all the files within the trash can

I should be doing that with the program of cleaning up harddiscs

But I don' t know if that' s the problem. Maybe you know a solution if it is? And with a fresh install you mean, no other maps of MTW2? That all the old files are deleted? I' m dutch, so my computer language is dutch. So there is another name for registry cleaner in my language. And I don' t know which name =S So if it' s just the program to delete files easily, i know wehre to find it

. But if you could explain in steps, I could maybe follow it

Is it the pictogram with a disc and a box?
translated from dutch to english it' s called software.
So I clicke don it to delete all the MTW files.
But that means the re- installed will be deleted too right.
So i' ll first try uninstall and then ill run that program

Hey,
I managed because of the manual isntallation to fully delete all existing files from MTW2. So u should say the installation would work. Well it doesn't

. It says taht it can' t determine the installed game language for M2TW Gold.

Any solutions?? There always welcome

Hey I installed the progam,
I scanned with it and I clicked to repair a lot of files (all of the broken ones).
Only when I scan again the same problems still show up on the scan Only less of them (26 isntead of a lot of problems =P) =S
You tried this progam? Or do you know already that the repair is done? Or is there something else??
The third time I scanned (after the second which I also repaired) there are 24 repaired. So there 2 left.
I'm now going to repair them too, and scan again.
YAA no other problems/issues left!
I'm now going to try to install MTW2 again.

(u said try to see if it works on dutch, it doesn't but I can understand and speak english pretty well, it was just annoying because I didn't know the english word for example configuration sreen. Because my computer showed it in dutch =])

BTW: can u give me the link for the regions and provinces download (the mod)

Hey it still doesn't work..
Same problem, but maybe I know something.
But I need the names of all original stuff on disc 1 of MedievalTW2.
That way I can compare the files to the files on my disc =]
Maybe there is something missing.. Or do you know something else?
Maybe it has something to do with my language settings, could you tell me yours so I can check if mine are ok =]
I don't got Vista, do you? Cuz if u do it would be hard to compare.

Yea, it works.
But when I play Brittannia, America or the normal (the only ones I tried yet) it works fine.
But after the first turn of the campaign, it's stuck the screen won't move, like it's crashing =S
I also tried to get back with Ctrl Alt Del or escape but the screen won't respond, i can't move my mouse either it jsut freezes.
The only cheat I used is toggle_fow, because I wanted to see the map before I started.
But after I used it I toggled it on again.. Did this happen in your game too??

Where can I see them (the recent installs)

I got the game in a normal store, not on internet or from someone else.

by the way,
if I downloaded patch 1.2 for MTW2.
And I unpacked it in the map where all the files of MTW2 are,
so in the map where all the files are gathered within maps in the 'main' map.
Is that okay? If yes, should I keep updating these patches like that??
Or how can I update the patches automatically?

HEY! nevermind about the freezing stuff, it's gone now..
Pretty weird ha?

I now see that Igot the patches up 1.3,
am I ready to download regions and provinces?

You need Kingdoms 1.5 patch for Regions and Provinces mod.

Just curious. I think it is, in many situation my For example some say on downlaod pages, it takes like 45 mins to dwonload, and with me it only takes like 15 or 10.
