Year changes every turn, with the seasons?!

Hi,

Its pretty obvious that every turn, the seasons change. I assumed that this meant that 6 months were progressing each turn, but I watched the year counter for several turns and noticed it increases by 1 year every turn - surely this is some kind of bug?

Please help!
