A Persian AAR
Hi all Rise off Persia fans this mod is fantatic and i love it.
Before this mod i thougth the persians as pushovers but know i respect them a whole lot more.
I wonder if its ok if i post an AAR on a Persian campaign i started a few days ago i also have a youtube campaign going on but i have filmed so much that i cant upload it all due to i can only use free trials.
Major economic difficultiesbut somehow i can still use the free trial.
this will not be a pictures but i will descibe it so you get an idea.
playing as Persia is very difficult but very rewarding and it feels more advance to march into distant lands than the greeks, way more tactical.
Lets get started if i cant do the AAR here plz move it and send a link so i can find it.
As my father took his last breath i Cyrus II in tradition off the old Persian kings that ruled before my time had to swear an oath to in all actions serve and act for the well being off the persian pepole.
We are a pepole off herdsmen moving from place to place with our cattle as our fathers have done before us and sometimes taken up arms to fend off raiders.
But there is an even darker story: For several generations more than i can count we persians have been forced to figth for a cause that is none off our own and that is only to the advantage off an even larger and stronger tribe than our own the Medes.
It cant be benefitial to our pepole to continue to be slaves under someones else vip and to figth meaningless battles over cattle.
There must be more glory for the Persians than figth for pigs and goats, perhaps gold and peace.
I will not se more persian blood spill to fill another masters purse its time for war to finish this once and for all.
But we must start with looking at our flaws and our own errors if we are to rise and at last give our pepole freedom...
First off all the Medes are a tribal pepole just like us but with far more wealth and resourses than we can muster so if we continue to figth like we have done in the past we are bound to lose.
We must be better in every way to compensate for their numbers and we must remind ourself that we have everything to win while they have everything to lose.
And so i founded a new city Pathraganda and started replacing goats with crops and grain.
A new infantry corps was founded not by herdsmen but by soldiers that would figth for me in under the hottest sun and the most freezing winter.
These men will not be divided as our enemies do into either archers or spearmen my men must be the best off both and thus every man has the same worth as 2 off our enemies if not more.
Anusya they were called the companions that will with me avenge the suffering off the persian pepole that has lasted so long for several generations.
My men need not only confidence in their weapons and training nor in my leadership but in their bodyarmour, i dont wanna se more persian blood flow.
As King off Persia i oderd the armourers to be musterd in my capital and the herdsmen that prevoiusly had been the core off our army were send home along with the Asabi or mounted nobles to greedy and to expensive to maintain that infantry not to mention harder to control and not as loyal as the lower classes.
The Nobles have never been called to figth for someone elses war and they migth even be bribed attacking our army in the rear! NO, they must be send home.
While i recruit 5 units off Anusya i recon we do need someone to guard our homes and women while we are gone and what can be better to have than archers.
We have grain stores within our city no need to figth them directly and if another city than our capital is attacked we can easly muster a relief force to aid our fellow brothers.
With a new Administration in a city that just have gotten 2000 citizens and a communication road being built in another city next to our capital we could begin planning our future war.
When i have been informed that my 5 divisions off Anusya were fully armed and equiped we began to march, the question is were to begin.
So what do you guys think? i will stop here so i got the names off the cities to next round.
No need to give advice in this i have managed to recreate the Persian Empire many times and also i dont want you to reveal were i march and so on it keeps the exitment.
but i feel very confident so far!
