Why doesn't rtr work on my pc- windows 7?

I bought rtw as version 1.5 because it was quite recent.
Tyhen I heard about rtr and went to the download, which was main site - download- 6.0 gold/ 2.0 platinum - platinum edition 1.9 (For RTW 1.5 or BI 1.6).
Then I extracted the downlaoded files as you would and installed it. The desktop link was created, but when it ran, it just turned into ordinary rtw.
help please....?

ps. as I am a new twcentre user, what does light infantryman mean?

RTR 6 Gold isn't compatible with RTW 1.2 (not 1.5!)
RTR 6 Platinum 1.9 is compatible with RTW 1.5 & RTW BI 1.6
RTR VII TIC is compatible with RTW BI 1.6
RTR VII FoE is compatible with RTW BI 1.6
RTR VII (not yet released) will be compatible with RTW BI 1.6

Then there also is a big submod for RTR 6 Platinum called Extended Realism Mod (ExRM), which - like Platinum - is compatible with RTW 1.5 and RTW 1.6.

Since you have Windows 7: do you have UAC turned off?

That's just something random linked to the number of posts you have. Some people with the rights to may manually edit it, others may not

You'll need to reinstall RTW and download and install RTR Platinum(RTRPE)Mod Switch. The Mod Switch version of RTRPE doent overwite any of the original game files and alows you to have multiple mods intalled in the same folder as long as they use the Mod Switch feature.

I have Windows 7 ultimate and RTR worked fine on me.Maybe you should buy Windows 7 Ultimate

Chaps, have installed V1.9, starts up fine and can get to the start campaign select faction screen. As soon as pick a faction and hit the start campaign button it stops working and boots me out to the desktop.....frustrating.

This happens on both the 'RTR Platinium' and 'RTR Platinium BI' shortcuts.

Can anyone help?
