Date Night with the Wife: which movie to see (Dec 23)?

Tonight, the wife and I are going out before the Christmas insanity begins with the extended families.

I won the right to pick the movie (I won't tell you how that happened, so don't ask), but I can't decide between 3 movies:

1) The Fighter
2) Black Swan
3) True Grit

Don't worry about what she would like: it doesn't matter, she doesn't want to see any of them

Could someone please suggest one of these, with a working assumption that it may be the only movie I see in the theatre this holiday?

(I politely request that if you make a recommendation, that you've actually seen the movie )

I would go with 'The Fighter'.

There's a thread near the end of this page raving about Black Swan, I'd go with either that or the Coen bros flick.

I saw Black Swan and very much enjoyed it. Check out the thread about it for details. I desperately want to see True Grit though.

I heard True Grit was good, but thats only if you like the westerns and stuff.

Nah i also heard that True Grit was really good, even when you are new with westerns.
