Tips for russia campaign? and other questions

I was wondering if anyone had some good tips for russias campaign. Also do russias troops get wrecked in battles because of there bad qualitiy? oh and are unicorns as good as some people say? I'm new to this game and haven't tried them out yet

thanks that'll really help for campaign. but no one really answered the question of what do do with bad russian soldiers. that one person said to use skirmishers to harass them but those are bad too

You're over-thinking it, especially if your not using anything that mods the battle AI. The vanilla soldiers aren't that bad, and I believe they have superior melee ability.

Russian soldiers arent that bad, but the best way to use them I believe is let them get a volley off and then charge!

I'd say that you should rely on your artillery and fight defensively, but CA nerfed Russia's artillery so they don't even have that now.

Get mods. Vanilla NTW has been ruined by CA's efforts at 'balance'.

I can recommend EiC or Toon Total War's All-In-One. Both are good mods.
