NTW won't load anymore

Some time ago I've installed NTW and could launch and play the game without any problems. Including several mods. Yesterday I've tried to launch the game and it just won't. I try to launch it via Steam. I've checked the integrity and removed the script files, but to no avail. Can someone tell me what to do next? I've read the other posts, but it doesn't help.

I've never been able to get the "start search" to find anything no matter what folder I choose.

I've pointed it to the Data folder, but it can't find no NTW files, so it doesn't work for me either. Nanny, removing the mod does do the trick, but why isn't it loading with the mod anymore? I've played it for weeks including the mod.

Thats odd. Well while I fix that (), do what the Nanny said and have a look to make sure you don't have any left over files in your data folder, even if they aren't in your script, they still may take effect or cause a crash/problems.

If you do want to use the mod. You will need to have your User.script set up again. (I think you said you removed it?)

It may also be a possibility that, as you said, you played NTW some time ago, there may have been an update to the game, and thus the mod you were using is now outdated and as such doesn't work with the current version of NTW?

So firstly, check that the mod you want to use is the only one in your data folder. Secondly set up your user.script accordingly.
If you'v done all that and it still doesn't work, there may be greater problems at work.

A couple of possibilities...could be that the mod version is out of date (they often have to update their mods when CA patches NTW), could be that whatever mix of mods you have doesn't work (happens to me all the time since I'm always mixing and matching...often certain files in conflict will cause a crash).

What I do is start with my must-have mod, and start building there with test launches in between. Make sure you have the latest mod versions before starting, that your vid card driver is the latest, and that (hardly needs to be said, but...) your NTW has the latest patches from STEAM.
