Installing RTW In A New Folder?

Does any here have any experience installing RTW Gold Edition in a separate folder? If so how? What I'm trying to do is run Rise of Persia 2.2, but if I do so on my current installation it will shut down Barbarian Invasion and related mods. So i'm thinking about putting another installation of RTW Gold Edition into a new folder and installing Rise of Persia 2.2 there. What's the best way to accomplish this and will it work?

What I'm really concerned about is that, while it is possible to install RTW Gold into another main folder, the installer will still automatically install some other files into certain areas where they will over write the ones that currently exist for my current installation, and that could cause damage to some mods. I'm also concerned that 2 different main directories using the same single files could cause registry key errors. Perhaps it does not that's why I would like to know other peoples experiences with having 2 separate installations on the same computer drive.

I usually just copy all of Rtw's files, and put them on a seperate folder. That way, I have one to screw around with, and one to play online.
