    Default Lord High Marshall?

    Hey guys, just a quick question. I Googled this a million ways and searched the forums, can't find anything. How do I use the Lord High Marshall ancillary (given to governor of Nottingham in my Scottish campaign)? I'm supposed to be able to appoint a Master of the Horse, but I can't figure out how to do it. Any help is appreciated!

    I don't know the exact answer, but I've gotten Master of the Horse without having to do anything. Maybe once anyone is a Lord High Marshall, Master of the Horse becomes available automatically? I haven't looked in the traits or scripts file to check.

    As far as I know you are given both automatically and then you can transfer them to whomever you want.

    Someone is appointed to be the Master of Horse automatically after you have a High Marshall. Then you can move the ancillaries around as normal to whoever you wish.

    From memory, I do believe that you can only get the Master of Horse if you have a high enough level of stables in at least one castle. You'd have to check the descr to figure out what level you need.

    Yes, once your character gains "Lord High Marshall" and you have "Advanced Stables" (which supposed to be Knight's Stables) in any Castle, a character (FM or General) will gain "Master of the Horse" ancillary.

    Ok, well I have a Baron's Stables and 8 Knight's stables and I still don't see the ancillary on any of my generals. Not sure what to do.

    i only get the marshall or the master of the horse ones if they guy sits in a castle...but maybe thats just been the luck of the draw...so u could try that tho.

    Well he has the Lord High Marshall ancillary, just not the Master of the Horse one. Apparently he should get one when he gets the other?

    Lord High Marshall doesn't always get Master of the Horse. Doesn't have to be sitting in castle either...

    In export_descr_ancillaries.txt file,

    Code:
    Trigger moh
     WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd
     Condition Trait MilitaryInclination >= 1
     and Attribute Loyalty >= 6
     and FactionwideAncillaryExists marshall
     and EndedInSettlement
     and SettlementBuildingExists >= stables
     and SettlementBuildingExists >= wooden_castle
     and not HasAncType office
     and not CharFactionType byzantium
     and not IsFactionLeader
     and not IsFactionHeir
     and not FactionwideAncillaryExists moh

     AcquireAncillary moh chance 50
    The General must be Militarily Minded.
    Lord High Marshall must exists somewhere in the faction's members.
    The General must stay in a castle with at least 1st tier stable.
    The General must neither be a faction leader nor an heir.
    And of course, there is no one to be appointed as MoH.
    He must not be Byzantine.
    Meeting these conditions he will gain this ancillary within 2 turns.

    About and not HasAncType office I am not sure what it actually means.

    Code:
    Trigger marshall_player
     WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd
     Condition FactionIsLocal
     and Attribute Loyalty >= 6
     and Trait MilitaryInclination >= 1
     and EndedInSettlement
     and SettlementBuildingExists >= wooden_castle
     and SettlementBuildingExists >= mustering_hall
     and not HasAncType office
     and not CharFactionType byzantium
     and not IsFactionLeader
     and not IsFactionHeir
     and not FactionwideAncillaryExists marshall

     AcquireAncillary marshall chance 100
    The General will gain Lord High Marshall ancillary when he meet following conditions.
    He must be Militarily Minded.
    He must have at least 6 Loyalty points.
    He must stay in a castle with at least 1st tier Barracks.
    He must neither be faction leader nor faction heir.
    And LHM ancillary has not already existed in the faction he belongs to.
    And the faction must not be Byzantines.
    Meeting these conditions he will gain this ancillary surely in the following turn.

    I don't think that trigger means the character must be in castle but that the faction just has to own castle because I've had character gain MoH while on campaign and in city not in castle.

    odd my heir is my marshall...and he was born the heir...so odd...but ok.

    umm the not office line means doesn't have lord senschal, etc etc offices, u can only get an office if u don't have one already.

    tks for the lines of code. ...glad to know the sitting in castle wasn't just my crazy imagination.

    @ Ichon
    and EndedInSettlement means the character must end his turn in a settlement. Am I right?

    @ Losthief
    your heir may once be a family member. When the king dies, the prince became new king and that family member became an heir. He might have got the anc: before becoming an heir.

    Thank you Iberia! That makes a lot more sense now. If you read one of my other threads, you'll see that I'm having trouble keeping my family alive. Therefore, I only have my King, Heir, LHM general and an administratively minded one. I'll have to expand the family...
