The Crusading Army got Lost?

I'm sorry but forgot to take a pic, so I will just explain it all with words.

Playing Lithuania VH/VH . and im at war with Poland. As i've noticed there was a crusade on Acre, and the polish general was marching through my teritory, but somehow he sieged my city Hrodna and automaticly i beat the crap out of him, but the all of the worlds nations became ambysal relations with me. How is that? Should i had to let it siege or do something else, because now everyone hates me and its not realy funny to be very unthrosworthy.

So maybe some1 can explain about this situation

You attacked a Catholic army embarked on the Catholicest mission imaginable. I doubt all the world's nations started hating you; it was just the Catholic ones.

Sometimes (often) the AI will do something stupid. This was one of those times.

Hiding in the woods no doubt. In my last Lithuania campaign, the Pope himself was leading the crusade against me, complete with a full stack of scary units. Then he just vanished into the forest for about 12 turns. I'd figured he'd wandered off somewhere, and then BAM I got ambushed, lol.

Kinda silly behavior for crusading troops but still funny.
