Default Huge stacks of rebels in Late Era Campaign?

Im not too sure if its a bug but there are HUGE stacks of rebel troops around each place. Some towns also have Rebels in them with fully stacked Crusader Knights (Which seem to make no sense).

    Are they a bug?

I am very tempted to just "Auto_win attacker" them to get rid of them.

Seems like rebels start off incredibly strong

If I recall correctly, all rebel settlements have a shared income. So the fewer cities there's left, the more money do they have to produce troops.

    True.
And perhaps SS also use a money script for slave\rebel faction it does for normal factions.

If those fully stacked Crusader Knights are in Constantinople then those are the remnants of the 4th crusade as they are represented in the game.

    Default Err...

It may just be that my Byzantine history is a little rusty, but did rebels really own Constantinople in 1220?

The rebels represent the Latin kingdoms that popped up after the Fourth Crusade.

Who's the guy in the picture and what is he doing?

Oh I understand now. Should have realized what it was representing.

That's Cary Elwes as Westley holding a sword to your neck wearing a Christmas hat in front of Big Ben in the winter of course!

Strong rebels represent kingdoms and duchies and other factions that didn't make it into the game due to the faction limit.

I personally feel that 'Rebels' should have been renamed 'Independent Kingdoms (or States)' and have 'Latin Crusade (or Kingdom)' and other faction names instead of 'Greek Rebels' and such.

If it's in Constantinople, thessalonika, Mystras, and Athens, I was under the impression that was representing the Latin kingdom. Very hard to beat playing eastern romans on hard... Especially when Constantinople gets the appetite for
    jihads..

Problem with the rebels is they usually leave the city and wait in the countryside somewhere... so you can siege and capture the whole region without fighting the armies until you get a later much easier siege battle. Trying to take a couple of those Greek cities representing Latin kingdoms can be quite hard in a siege battle but is relatively easy in a field battle.
