Default Playing with no CD in

In the last days I've been playing a lot of M2TW and RTW (play one a few hours, then the other one) and I've been asking myself if I could play these games without inserting their DVDs all time, because I have only 1 DVD-RW and I can't put a second one due to the warranty.

I have heard something about making virtual DVDs, with special programs. Would that thing work?

Note: I do own both games LEGALLY (I actually have 2 copies of M2TW, 1 gold 1 collectors), so please don't post any illegal ways, as I don't want this thread closed before I find an answer. Thank you

It's pointless to say that rep shall be given

Short of getting the steam version of the games there's no legal way to do it.

But I kinda hate Steam and don't want to buy them another time...

I just googled a bit and saw that you can add a non-Steam game to Steam. A very simple way to do it, but may I ask:
1.will I be forced to install the games in the Steam folder and play them only with Steam?
2.will I need to install the mods the Steam way? I know many wonderful mods don't work with Steam versions, that's why I ask.

    Thank you

You can play any mod with Steam, it's just a matter of settings things correctly.

As for your first question, I've never done it so this is just a guess, but the only difference (that matters at least) between a Steam and cd version of the game is in the exe. The Steam exe makes sure you go through Steam, that you have an account with the game, and all that stuff. Since you already own the retails versions of both games, you've got the "normal" exe. So if you add RTW or MTW as a steam game, it will probably just replace the exe on the Steam game, and you'll be left with two copies, one with Steam, and one without.

Well, I tried adding a game to Steam and I succeeded. Medieval works fine, although RTW seems to still need the CD. Well, atleast one works now
