Just a quick question, was the name of the military ranks(Feldmarschall, Oberst, Major, etc.) in the Prussian army equivalent to those of the Austrian or were there differences here as well?

For Austria you would of had a ranking system like this: Gemeiner, Kadett, Fahnrich, Unterleutnant, Oberleutnant, Hauptmann, Rittmeister, Major, Oberstleutnant, Oberst, Inhaber, General Major, Feldmarschalleutnant, Feldzeugmeister, General der Kavallerie and then Feldmarschall

In English this translates to: Infantry Private or Cavarly trooper, Officer Cadet, Ensign, 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant, Captain (Infantry), Captain (Cavalry), Major, Lieutenant Colonel, Colonel Commanding, Colonel Honorary, Major General, Lieutenant General, General (Infantry), General (Cavalry) and then Field Marshal.

This was the base structure of all armies of the era.

Yes, the Austrian names I have. Thing is that I do not have any good info on Prussian army so was just checking if the same names were used. Also some ranks, in Austria at least, had 2 names that could be used for example Oberleutnant and Premierleutnant, so I was wondering if maybe only one of the words were used in Prussia or something.

The same layout was used for all armies, the reason your find different language abbreviations example Oberleutant and Premierleutant is because of different dialect used by different states/areas of nations, and for whom was controlling them at the time.

You will find that Premierleutant is a French Word and Oberleutnant is German.

You will probably find that Premierleutant is from the Prussian Lauguage when Oberleutnant was used as the German Dialect and used for Austria.

Your question is partially answered here: http://www.napoleon-series.org/milit...n/c_ranks.html as this only goes up to Colonel.
This contains the equivalents for France, UK, Austria, Prussia, Russia, Spain, Sweden & US.

Austria to UK equivalents at http://www.napoleonguide.com/austrian_ranks.htm

Prussian to UK equivalents (according to p74 Nofi "The Waterloo Campaign" - I know I have a full table of equivalents somewhere in my bookcase but can I find it!!!!!):

    General-Feldmarschal......................Field Marshal
    General....................................... General
    General-Leutenant......................... Lieutenant-General
    General-Major............................... Major-General

Bingo - found part of the answer in table of equivalents at various command levels down to Colonel (page 14 Digby-Smith "The Greenhill Napoleonic Wars Databook" - I have extrapolated the data to fit (as General de Division could also easily fit at the General level)

    British...............French............Prussian....................Austrian........................Russian
    Field Marshal.......Marechal.........Feldmarschall..............Feldmarschall.................Field Marshal
    General.....................................General der Infanterie...Feldzeugmeister.............General of Infantry
...............................................General der Kavallerie...General der Infanterie......General of Cavalry
    ....................................................................................General der Kavallerie...........................
    Lieutenant.......General de........Generalleutenant.........Feldmarschallleutenant.....Lieutenant General
    General............Division....................................................................................................
    Major General...General de Brigade...Generalmajor...........Generalmajor..................Major General
