    Default need some campaign advice

Okay I am playing on H/H with Sicily. I am using BGR, Limited Activities, and Savage AI. I don't really like the gunpowder units so I am playing the early campaign.

With the Limited activities growing my family tree is as important as growing my empire. I don't like taking on adopted usurpers so I never accept the benefactor requests. The first problem is I hardly ever get marriage requests for my family members and princesses. When I do get an offer it is usually a 60 year old wanting to marry my 20 year old princess.

Even my faction heir and other starting male family member didn't get any requests so I had to let some dirty foreigners into the family just to get them wives. I started out with three family members and on the third generation I have six but two are old and about to die.

Also every child anyone in my family has is female. It almost seems like a bug I have had so many girl children. Anyone else have similar problems?

If you want to keep the bloodline as pure as possible marrying foreign princesses using your diplomat.

The game triggers for births of males and adoption offers is based on your FM/regions ratio. If you have more FM then current regions the births will tend to be female and your adoption offers won't be happening. A few games I had a bumper crops of young princes being born when the ratio was low- but then they all came of age close together and brought the ratio over the amount of regions I controlled. Then they all aged together and had daughters and it seemed the family line might die- finally I killed off the weaker/less useful FM's and the youngest of those left started to produce heirs.

Hmmm, yes that is a problem. Try taking an extra region or two, and killing off some old usless generals in battle.

That should get you a few more heirs, or at least sons in your family tree.
