Well a list of 25 by a web / newspaper takes out the low hanging fruit.

Two that I did not see that are quite good (and b&w) would be:

How can anything be bad with Joseph Cotton? Yes it is a bit of a WWII propaganda film, but I really liked the plot and basic premise of the movie. Shirley Temple was wasted though.

Yes, how about a James Stewart movie?? And not "It's a Wonderful Life"? This movie has a solid cast also deals with some real life issues. Btw -- if you go to Internet Movie Database and type in the search for James Stewart you will have lots of choices and not all for the actor.

So what are your choices??? Do not forget to check out the low hanging fruit link as well.

I almost forgot -- Bell Book and Candle
James Stewart, Kim Novak, Jack Lemmon, Ernie Kovacks, Hermione Gingold and Pyewacket or "pye" the cat / familiar

With a cast like that in a story about witches and Christmas -- how can you go wrong?

btw -- it is not even B&W and I love it.

Children of Men. Released on December 25 a few years back is a modern retelling of the Nativity, where an unwedded woman with a miraculous conception and birth is to be protected by quasi-stranger to save all mankind, partially from itself.

Oh man, I've seen that movie, at least the MST3K version. It's awful and incoherent throughout but sure is hilarious. Have at least a few beers before viewing.

Blackadder's Christmas Carol - Ebeneezer Blackadder is the kindest man in England, giving everything he owns, his turkey, presents, all the profits from his moustache shop and his Christmas twig, to the poor. He is visited by the ghost of Christmas past who shows him his evil ancestors at Christmas, which convinces him that being mean results in happiness, here meaning money, and a turkey so big it must have been rogered by an omnibus!
