I want Empire 2 Total War

Yes, you read that right.

Why? I love the scope of the game and I love the game itself. It's so big it offers huge possibilities. You can fight anywhere in the world and plus it is the era of technological advancements, specialised armies, lots of different enemies... There's a lot of reasons why but most of all, after four years of work, Empire Total War is still unfinished and it feels incredibly rushed. It's a big shame because the game is something that hasn't been attempted before (of this scale I mean) and not only this but it caused a lot of problems for CA...

From my part, I like Empire TW even now. Of course, I bought it from the start but I haven't played it since patch 1.5 and all the DLC packs included, so my experience is somewhat different from those who started off with the release version. But even after one full year of playing (started in December 2009) I am enjoying the experience offered by ETW. On that base I think that Empire 2 TW is highly recommended for the following reasons:

- expanded fan base, lots of people love the era (and the close enough Napoleonic Wars)
- the scope of the game is the biggest in the whole TW series
- it gives CA a chance to rehabilitate if they work this out properly
- the chance of an excellent game (I noticed the AI works out better the flanking and the frontal attacks when it has ranged units)
- perhaps it could further push the TW series into next-gen?

These are obviously my own personal reasons but I do think they are valid on all accounts. CA squandered a great idea and it's quite a big shame they screwed four years of work, and they screwed up their own credibility when they released it and said how good it is and two months later they said they were even ashamed to give it to their family members (or something similar like this).

Any thoughts?
I'm all up for a E2TW. But not rushed. I'm prepared to wait.

I would like to see R2TW first, but aye, you're right. It was a wasted opportunity there (although they got tons of money out of it, hopefully not on purpose)

Perhaps this time they could provide even more units to the fray because some nations really did not have any specialised rosters.
Judging by what Napoleon TW had for France, at least 3-4 specialised units for each faction could be worth the effort.

I agree, ETW is the game I've played the most in the TW series - am still playing it now.

I'd love to see Empire TW II 1800-1899 preferably on a WW map. Would be terrific.

If ETW was a complete game, it would be awesome. I just hope that they will release mod tools and we can make it complete game with it events, natural disasters, fate of settlements, etc....................

Total War: Empire 2...that would be simply terrific, but I don't think it's its time now, maybe after another game, then the Rome sequel and then the Empire one

But they could expand it a bit more. Lets say from 1700 till 1850? It will include the Napoleon era aswell.
He could be like a general which will be spawned on the map if the time is right (around 1805 i believe? dont hate me if im wrong, lol). Just like how the Mongols spawned in Medieval 2 Total war.

Also more events + units! Cant get enough of more different units between nations! They should also make different kinda of ships among nations.

Including the Napoleonic era would make it too much IMHO. Plus, if left to it's own, the TW AI wouldn't really advance properly to portray the Napoleonic Era unless it is a separate campaign or an expansion.

Example, South Africa, South America, American West coast, maybe Asian theater.... one world map would be too big and wasted space. Also, expanded units, better diplomacy. Oh and fighting in real city...like Paris or Vienna. There is a big opportunity. I would love that game.

See, having too much world can tip the balance and ruin everything. I thought the India theatre was too big but that was just my opinion. The current trade nodes are fine and dandy, no need to change those - adding more trade theatres is even better. Expanding the Americas a bit would make it more comprehensive and it would add a certain "feel" of colonialism to the whole game.

Personally I'd love another empire2 as I love the time period but I think Rome desires another go first before we can get another empire. I want a new empire TW to have massive amounts of time to develop as it could of been soooo good. We must have a world map my goodness I'd love to salvage Qing China or play as Tokugawa Shogunate and with more overseas possessions(Brazil....) it'd be very fun. Sigh Empire to me is my favorite simply because of the scope and time period followed by rome.

So yes I say after shogun, do Rome, another medieval that actually goes all the way to 1600s and then Empire 2, but that time hopefully CA can better themselves to take on an ambitious project like Empire

Empire2: Total War could be a good idea to develop, but there must be more playable theaters (at least trade theaters from ETW should be controllable).

Next the diplomacy should be better plus the battle AI.

As someone said: it will be good, if we have more units types available to recruit, bigger diversity between countries.

Of course more factions to play as in vanilla and more historic events (especially revolutions should be triggered automatically - like this in 1789...).

About the time frame: i think that 1801- 1914 could be a good choice (no airplanes and tanks to worry about...).

I know, that CA is involved in developing of Shogun2: Total War, so there will be probably no further develop of ETW.

I wouldn't mind an Empire 2 with bigger regions, non obnoxious AI and free of fatal bugs though. I kind of like the concept, they just did a miserable job with empire.
