There are a lot of good mods out there, so it will be difficult for you to pick one to play without knowing more specifically what you are looking for in a mod. For example, Deus Lo Vult has a lot more role-playing elements, adds several factions (ex. KOJ, Teutonic Knights, Ireland, etc), and adds units to every faction roster. The Retrofit mod adds Kingdoms units (but not factions), but keeps gameplay very similar to vanilla.

I guess my point is that you should think about what exactly you are looking for, before you start looking too much. Otherwise you'll be overwhelmed with how many different (and excellent) mods there are out there.

The thing about Medieval Total war 2 is that there is literally dozens of mods out there. Stainless Steel is good, full stacks comin at cha all the time. There is also Broken Cresent if you are in the mood to take over the middle east. A few asian center mods are out there as well. But there are also mods that just totally change the game. I play third age, a mod about Lord Of The Rings. There is a thera mod, a warhammer mod. You have a lot to choose from.

Absolutely think about what you are looking for to improve your gameplay experience. Many options to chose from. I play and love Deus Lo Vult 6.2 with the submod BB2.85. For me this is the ultimate experience and it is continuing to be updated on a very regular basis. This is only compatible with Kingdoms, so that might not work for you.

Check out these two mod forums for descriptions and discussion about the mods

I personnally would love to play me som DLV, but I dotn have kingdoms, yet.
I play SS4.1, cause that sounds like the best mod i can run, without having kingdoms. (which i own, but cant install yet, due to a deal with my wife. )
Im having fun with SS4.1, but looking forward to the day i can bust out some DLV.

my favorites are stainless steel and third age, i enjoy seeing the grand variation of skins and textures on both...
u will get the feeling of being overhelmed all the time on them, in SS, its AI will really test ur skills independent wich one u choose on the setup, plus, its got a earky and late campaign, focusing on different times and all, on third age, u will see overhelming hordes of creatures going on ur castles, u will have to survive before thinking of pushing forward, its really challenging...
i would suggest SS first, its a must have mod...

Thanks to you all. T be more specific, I'm looking for a mod wich brings new factions in the game,a lot of new units,a new map,new skins, etc. The thing is, I've played Third Age TW and in the beginning I loved it,but after some time I got bored with the element of "attack-wait 15 turns-attack-wait again" Also, the finanial system wasn't pretty good,it was hard to build up armies and keep control of territories. The battles were a lot of fun,but the financial system screwed it up (my opinion, I am not saying that it isn't a great mod for some people,it just wasn't for me). I would love another mod wich brings Middle-Earth to life, but Third Age is the only one I can find. Any help on this is very much appreciated.
