Can i make the battle map size smaller?

Can i make the battle map size smaller?

When i play a battle and i win by the opponent retreats, its just SO annoying that the opponent have to run ALL the way to the map end....

I would like to have the battle map area smaller, can this be done?

The size of the battle map is, I believe, dependent upon the size of the campaign map.

Uh, what?
When all the opponent's armies rout, you win and you can exit the battle (or chase them a little and then press Esc, and exit) without any problems.

just fast forward it and you only have to wait like 20 seconds

and it was a lot worse in medieval total war becaus eyou usually had to wait like 10 minutes while the enemy ran away up a mountain

ya, i dont understand y defending ai armies can just run away while when u defend u cant run away
