I'm trying to get the KoS guild for Portugal, and want to make sure I'm doing it right. I read somewhere that you need a settlement bordering the Moors, so I decided to leave them Cordoba in a new campaign I started. I'm just curious if I need the bordering settlement to be a city or castle. Or maybe it can be both? As far as cavalry goes, the KoS is the best Portugal or Spain has. It's comparable to French cavalry, which is said to be the best in the west.
Although since it's a guild troop, that kind of limits what I can do with it. Still, I don't plan to have a large empire anyway.
Portugese knights and Conquistadors are good, but they both have things that the other has. Like powerful charge or being better at something else. The KoS seem to combine these two into a nice heavy cavalry unit that I can at least defend my main Empire with. Even if I don't use it to fight across the map very often.
