Faction heir has four illegitimate children

I married my prince with a lovely Danish princess but all four of his children are illegitimate, the two sons have "the Bastard" titles and the princesses have illegitimate trait...

I have seen Bastards before but never 4 in a row from the same family, I was wondering what caused this?

My heir was on crusade when I arranged the marriage, would that have something to do with it?

And just to be clear they will still inherit the fathers side for traits such as legacy of chivalry and "of Germanic blood"?

lol i had a prince that was named Odo the bastard, even tough he was a high chilvary and command general, he still had the nickname-bastard

anyway-did the father of the children not marry until he was in his 40's

maybe you should place 2-3 spies, 2-3 assassins and a billion priests as an escort to that princes the kids would be legitimate.

Maybe the heir is an old philanderer? Which would make much more sense in the medieval termes, 'cause a bastard son inheriting the biological fathers title wasn't that uncommon (i.e. William the Bastard or Charlemagne - de jure he was a bastard since he was born before the marriage of his father and his mother was canonically sactioned).

Bastards are the result of the father's wife being barren, a (just quoting the code!) or ugly, with increasing changes as the trait levels go up. The trait 'Girls' also might trigger it if the father has it. I assume stuff is similar for princesses.
