economy has been left untouched... I made alot of money as the game progressed (reaching 1219 is alot of turns) by developing wealthy cities in the empire. Are the romans giving you any trouble? In my game they keep sieging Antioch (which costs me 7k a turn each time they do it - 8k a turn from antioch but when sieged 1k) with naval armies and land based ones that they march through armenian cilicia. I fought the mongols on bridges... some bridges are superior to others for defense. I failed against the mongols on my first try... there are just too many of em and the quality of their units is exceptional. When they sieged samarqand they did so with 2 stacks... the first cavalry stack was massacred when they ran into the city but the supporting army only walked over them

You have no idea how much that upset me... to see thousands of their horses walking safely over my stakes. I am glad the save worked fine without the need for modification... your georgian bodyguard are still horsearchers?
I declared war on the mongs by attacking them with that

afghan unit.. you probably did the same? They also went straight for the khwarezmians in my campaign, though not Balkh... I think the ghaznis still own that but am uncertain. They marched to bukhara and then urgench
before coming back round for me.
I recommend fighting them as much as possible on the bridge to the right of urgench, there is a bridge directly to the south of urgench... the one to the right of that, I might try again soon and use the same tactic. It's the best bridge for 'staking' as you can plant them pretty much anywhere
