    Default spacing of unit

Hi all not sure if this is correct... but i have noticed a funny spacing in my units, the soldiers all seem to be set to skirmish? this is my pikeman on what should be a tight formation, if i press open order or skirmish, nothing happens? at first i thought this was part of the mod as swordsmans and speerman were set as is in the pic... but as a looked on at the pikman i thought to my self this looks wrong? any ideas?

as you can see in the picture i have my pike set to the specialization.

This is an original setting, so the only thing you can do is to modify it in EDU.

I dont understand my pikeman cannot form a pike wall.... this makes no sense? to have so much spacing? Pike would not be like this? it must be a mistake..... because if i press skirmish order then they stay as they are.. this cannot be right? i remember playing broken ctresant some years ago well i stopped about a year ago.. when it was first released the units did not have this spacing? so what has happened since then? and can soemone give me the correct spacing?

If you want to change it, you need to experiment a bit with EDU settings. That's nothing hard, actually.

I can't give you "correct" value, because I don't know it.

I think gary is using 2.02 EDU, and there the line is "formation 1.2, 3.0, 1.2, 3.0, 5, square, phalanx".

Gary, open EDU and copy the line cited by Neige Noire; save the file and your pikemen formation will be changed.

Well from what I recall from the previous EDU (Haven't touched it for a very long time) battles are now longer due to increased armour values, and actually the whole battle system has been altered and imo made more realistic. The unit upkeep and recruitment values are also higher I think. You can read all the info about it in the link wudang clown posted.

The wide spacing of my metsivokhe archers made it nigh on impossible to plant their stakes in a city siege... it was frustrating
