This is the most embarassing defeat i have ever achieved. Full exp. Spartans, being crushed by Gauls! Gauls!

Do not worry if you get an error message b4 you start the Rplay, it was made back in 6.3, but i assure you it works perfectly with Gold.

A must see. Quite Entertaining.

This is a realism game and the Gaul’s were not frightened of the Greeks one bit and beat them on more then one occasion. But honestly thought if you can’t beat a bunch of Barbarians with the Greeks don’t even bother with SPQR.

i know, how is it possible to lose to gauls, espesially with an army of Spartans. One is clearly not very good at battles.

I think it's a replay file that u stick in the right folder for Rome: Total War, then just select it when you load a battle replay from the main menu.

They never did that. They only sacked the oracle of Delphi when they were fleeing Gaul (it was not a battle), only to be slaughtered by the Greeks soon after for revenge.

Oh no, you shouldn't say that! I sometimes lose in the highest difficulty level, and I was watching a 3vs3 game in a net cafe, and I could see there is still hope for me, if some people play like that!

I know you're curious so a brief description of the... slaughter I saw. The guys I was watching were hiding in the forest with huge armies of spearmen and axemen, and the others were firing catapults in random in the forest, and the hiding guys were suprised: 'How the hell did he see me???'. I was smiling. Then they went out in the open, defeated the enemy infantry (they had more), and then the enemy cavalry (they had less) with a very simple and amateur circling maneuver routed them. It was disappointing, really, they panicked when they were playing and they couldn't control their huge forces.

But as for the topic, I guess any force can defeat any other force, if used properly. In the first Rome in a 3vs3 battle we had defeated an enemy army only because my cheap and worthless night raiders were strolling in the forest almost invisible attacking phalanxes and pretorians from the rear.

Well, there is something in what you say, Hoplite, but it is not really true.
For example if I have foot soldiers and the enemy has horse achers that is just bad, except me having phalanxes or very high quality soldiers. There are situations when you must just suck because your army is weak.
If you have good armies (archers, cavalry, good quality foot soldiers) you can beat AI as easy as taking a candy from a child.
