Default Generals having children in a foreign land?

Is this even possible? I have spent 40 (2tpy) years in africa without a marriage in my royal family and no sign of children, is there some kind of preventitive hard-coded measure resposible for this?

If the ratio of generals to settlements is already too high then children and other forms of new general are often prevented.

Generals can't marry, I believe by Generals you mean Family Members, anyway they can have children in foreign lands, in fact there's even a trait gained by their children, it is called " Considered a 'Poulain' "

Though iy can only be gained by Western factions.
