    Default ATI/AMD graphics cards

    So i was looking and found that the SAphire 5870 and 6870 are the same price. which one is batter the only difference i saw was that the 6870 holds a clock speed of 900 Mhz vs the 850 of the 5870. other than that all looks the same. are the 6000's really better than the 5000's in the mid-high range?

    ::EDIT::
    let me claer up why i am asking this. if you go on newegg and look under sapphire's 6000's cards. there are two of the 6870 and 6850 listed. one card with be more expensive than the other of the almost same name. but they only list partial specs for each card. so one 6870 will list streaming processing units but not the core clock speed and the other will list core clock speed but not the streaming processor count. this looks rather shady to me. any thoughts on that part of it?

    HD5870>6870 in games, in benchmarking 6870 beats 5980 in some fields. Scaling is far better in 6870 though.
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Settings were 1920×1200 resolution with 16xAF and 4XAA.

    Its a good time to buy the 5870, board partners are looking to shift the remaining cards out of retailers inventories to make way for replacement products so you can pick up a bargain right about now.

    The 6870 isn't much slower then 5870 but it does use less power, supports HDMI 1.4a, DisplayPort 1.2, Bit streaming of true HD audio and support for 6 way eyefinity meaning you can run 6 monitors of one card (the older stock 5870 can support 3 way eyefinity). The 6870 also has Blu-ray 3D support and if you watch films on your PC it supports UDV3 which by all accounts gives a better viewing experience, there's also Morphological AA which you don't get on the 5870, this might be of interest to you as this type of AA allows you to play with as much AA as you want but without the performance drag you come to expect from normal AA at the expense of a more blurred picture.

    The 5870 wins on our right performance but the 6870 gives you more in features.
