    Default stronger elite units.....

    Waiting patiently for the real thing (Point Blank's RC/RR) I'll start making (if I'm allowed and for personal use at start ) some changes to armor and attack values to some elite units in a way that they would make a huge difference in a battle. The idea is that an elite unit should easily beat 3 militia units (melee vs melee of course) with very few losses. Another example is a battle line made of four silvan heavy swordsmen will beat an almost full army of early goblin infantry (assuming they don't get surrounded) but they will be almost equal in strength against 6 or so stacks of elite uruk hai swordsmen.


    I hope I made you get the point because my English aren't good . I'll appreciate any ideas and advise since this is my first attempt of modifying the game

    If this has interest to others and someone would like to make a submod from this feel free to do it and I'll help in any way I can, as I'm no good for submod leader....

    I'll start by making bodyguard units stronger.

    No bodyguard unit stronger! I do not know how much have you played but every time I play I experience excess of generals in my mid game. Creating a full stack is a distinct possibility. When I played Arnor for the first time, elite bodyguard units led by Gandalf cut their way through the whole Dunland, Rohan, dear marshes, assaulted Black Gate and Barad Dur without loosing single general.

    I assume that full stack of generals was made by u and not the AI. I don't have the current AI capable of such thing. I will try to make a sub mod that will need more balanced armies to win and if possible to be a challenge playing it in medium difficulty. If i cant autoresolve, I want to play fewer but more challenging battles. I find the campaign AI in VH quite boring with the "countless" battles I have to face each turn. I can win the most of them but I don't want to lead them all. If it is necessary to lead them all (no problem with that) they should be fewer and more crucial, for me, rather than blitzing me almost every turn with a battle I can easily win but I will loose it 100% if I autoresolve.


    I could use the auto_win cheat cheat in some of the battles I'm sure that I can win but that feels like cheating....... I don't want to do that.

    thanks for the hint! This is the thread I read and made possible for me to start modding this almost perfect mod . otherwise the EDU file seem to me like mabo Jubo stuff, if u get the meaning

    4 silvan spearmen better the 6 uruk hai stacks????? You meant units right.

    that's one of the annoying things I will try to correct. 4 units of spearmen should not win the 6 stack of uruk hai (high quality swordsmen)

    ...wait so your saying that in the tatw your playing 4 units of silvan swordsmen can beat 6 STACKS of uruk-hai infantry. i dont believe thats possible.

    Of course is possible, if you give to silvan swordsmen high enough armor and attack values. But I'm having 2nd thought's if this is a good idea......

    4 full upgraded silvan swordsmen
    can be 6 stacks of elite uruk-hai(ie plate armour ones)
    vanilla tatw units
    and the 4 swordsmen can win?
    ya no they cant picture please because i cant recreate that scenario in my game.

    unless you mean that you are modifying your unit stats so they do win that battle

    I don't think he means 6 stacks but rather 6 units of Uruk-Hai.

    lol ok ya i understand now, stacks is way different than units
