    Icon1 Macintosh Version is here read first post!

    Edited by apple: Follow this link and download the two 7.z archives in the download section.
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=386559

    Instructions:
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    In case people are still struggling to get RS2 to work on their macs, here's what I did:
    - copy the data file to another folder (for example, RS2 on the desktop);
    - download the two 7z archives, use The Unarchiver to extract them (but not on top of the RS2 folder on the desktop, this folder will be called RS2 installer or something like that);
    - open Terminal;
    - "cp -R /Users/<username>/downloads/RS 2.5 file installer/data /users/<username>/desktop/RS2" without the quotes. to insert the paths, you can drag the folder icon into the terminal window. So for the first folder, drag the Data folder from the Installer folder, and for the second, the RS2 folder. What this does is it merges the two data folders into the data folder from your desktop;
    - copy the other folders from "Installer" into "RS2" on the desktop;
    - rename RS2 to RomeData;
    - open Disk Utility;
    - File - New - Image from Folder;
    - Select the RomeData folder on your desktop (which should contain the newly merged data folder, along with all the other Play_*** folders from the installer). Wait for 7 years for the image to be written;
    - Copy the vanilla RTW app from the applications folder (the 23 MB one) into the same folder as the new RomeData dmg;
    - mount the new RomeData.dmg;
    - launch RTW holding alt - this should open the RTW Launcher. Go to advanced, type -modlay_Rome -nm
    - replace Play_Rome with desired faction;
    - hit play.

    Any plans for bringing a mac version of the mod? I personally would love to see one, as right now I'm using Windows just for RSII on my Mac, I otherwise use Parallels.
    If I'm right, it shouldn't be so hard, would just need to recompile the launcher for the mac?

    Run the installer and once all the contents are extracted (but not in the RTW directory) copy those to the Mac location.

    Im going to be posting a DMG download with the RSII files all there, i run RS2 on the mac version of RTW. Probably a Christmas present for mac users

    the launcher isnt needed, you simply put in advanced options -mod:play_rome or whatever campaign you want to run

    Great.
    Btw Aspis is the mac version of RTW running any good?
    I might buy it if it is so that I can run it in OS X instead of using bootcamp and windows 7 for RTW.

    the only issue ive found with RSII is the music...for some reason, at the start of a campaign you get a CTD, but if you mute music it works flawlessly. Occasionaly ill get a CTD mid battle, but i think thats more of a hardware issue (running on a macbook). Although ive never had any of the issues with the patch so some problems appear to not affect the mac version (auto-save bug).

    So yes, i think it works just as well as the PC version. id reccomend getting it...its not even too expensive

    Hey Apple! Isn't a Hd 5750 in that imac? If so, how is Roma Surrectum running in Bootcamp? Is it possible to play in 2560x1440 with huge unit settings for example?

    No I got the early 27' from 2009 so mine only got a mobility radeon 4650 HD.
    Roma surrectum 2 runs great on all high (no aa) at 2560x1440.
