One firing drill I would love my line infantry to have is the famed british 'aim but hold fire' tactic. Used by the redcoats when facing bayonet charges, they would have the first and 2nd rank kneel. The third rank would fire their volley, then the 2nd rank would stand up and fire...then the first rank would stand up, aim and hold their fire until the enemy bayonets were almost on top of them. The result was the enemy line charging would very likely break off and flee because it was practically guaranteed that the first line would die from a volley at point blank range. In the game one cant micromanage this since hold fire button usually makes your troops go through the entire 'line up, face forward, check weapon, aim, fire' sequence. If the Platoon Fire drill could be replaced with a copy/paste of the Fire by Rank drill and have them freeze at the 'aim' stage until the enemy is inside 10 meter range it'd be perfect. Anyone know if this is something that can be done?
