    Default Villa Julii

    Name: Gaius Julius Septimus

    Age: 31

    Character Bio:

Political: A strongwilled, extremely political patrician. He is know to have a firm loyalty to the Republic, and scrutinizes anyone who he percieves as attempting to gain too much power. As for himself, his true motives remain hidden, however it is rumored he wishes to bring glory to the Julii name. He is a patient man, and will bide his time and hold is tounge in the Senate chambers, ever watching his fellow senators.

Casual: At home, Julius Septimus is a very warming and entertaining man. He welcomes anyone to his home, and frequently invites friends over for dinner. A huge fan of the games, chances are if you cant find him in the Senate chambers or his villa, you can find him at the Games!

Ambitions: Unknown, but is rumored he is desiring a position within the Legions

Spurius Geminius arrives at Villa Julii to be answered by a slave at the door.
"I wish to speak with your master."
"I am afraid my master is currently entertaining a guest. Is the subject you wish to speak of urgent?" replied the slave.
After considering for a moment Spurius states, "No it not of the upmost urgency, however I feel it is of importance. I shall not disturb you master and his guest. Give your master this message, 'Senator Spurius Geminius Scaeva wishes to talk with him; please visit me at my villa, or if it is to his preference we could meet at his."
Spurius did not include the subject that troubles him in the message, for he knows that slaves have loose toungues and Rome has many ears willing to listen to such toungues.

*Senator Spurius walks briskly up to the door and raps 3 times impatiently*

OOC: You can probably guess what this is about. If its too soon then don't answer until it is

Flavius looks around, noticing the mess. His own villa wasn't any better; he had a lot of work himself too to solve: diplomacy, work in the Senate of Rome, asnwering to letters... the list was endless.
All is well indeed, friend! And don't worry about the mess. My own villa is not any better.

OOC: I am feelign very popular right now Although, popularity can lead to an early grave TGC, if you want to talk to septimus alone, just ask him to stop by your villa or something later

    IC:
while reading, Septimus responds to Flavius, not with disdain, but rather there was a twinge of haste and frustration in his voice, no doubt from all the work piled up around him

What can i do for you Senator? I hope all is well. would you like something to drink? Wine perhaps? Ive been known to have some of the best wine in all of Rome.

Thank you, Senator. I thank you from the wine, friend. *a slave appears and gives a goblet of wine to Flavius*

I came here for two purposes: the first one being to celebrate you of your almost sure election of being the next consul, and the second reason being to invite you to a personal meeting to my villa in Corvinium. If you have time from your work, please inform me! Probably in sunday, yes? It would be a nice day to walk, talk, drink and eat. This day is perfect too, isn't it?

Septimus beckoned to a slave to come near

Aelius, be sure to free my sunday. I will be visiting Senator Corvenus at his villa. he paused and thought for a moment arranged for a number of bottles of wine to be delivered before my arrival.
    Yes, Dominus

I am obliged to attend Flavius. Its not every day a man has the courtesy to come give an invitation personally. Always letters....more paper for the mess, im afraid i may have misplaced your invitation had you invited me via letter. I shall be there

I am honoured, Senator. *drinks his wine and gives the empty goblet to the slave* Now i have work to do, my friend. I shall go and leave you to your work. We shall see on sunday! I hope a good evening for you! Flavius closed the door softly behind him, happily walking away. "Oh, my work." , he thought, and fastened his pace. Suddenly he heard a noise. Two noises. Three, four, how many? He turned and saw a group of bandits with blades on their hands running down on him. "Help!" "Help!", Flavius shouts and pulls out his hidden dagger. One of the bandits says "Give me your denarii, Senator!", he said sarcastically. Flavius saw two guards behind the bandits. They had not saw them. Flavius stabbed the leader with his knife, and at the same time the two guards killed two bandits. The rest surrendered and were delivered to the Colosseum prison to get a "greeting" the roman way. The guards asked how Flavius was, and when they saw that he was fine, they left him to walk to his horse. Flavius rode home and started the work, soon forgetting the encounter.

OOC: Lol you aught to report that to the Praetor Maiar, bandits in Rome, honestly, 4 bandits suggests more bandits :S.
IC: *Spurius was returning from the forum when he saw Corvenus leave, suggesting that Gaius would hopefully be free, if only for a while, from his now very busy schedule. A moment after Corvenus passed round a distant corner Spurius heard a cry for help, it probably wasn't even from the senator....Anyway, Spurius had business to attend to. He walks briskly to Gaius Julius Septimus' door and knocks. A slave answers*
Ah slave, please tell your master that Spurius is here to discuss...military matters, and would like a short time alone with him.

Ah yes. I came to check on our plan to allow me command of a legion in the feild, since when we first put it together I found it vague. I am here for details and confirmation consul.
*Spurius smiled, knowing he was coming close to gaining a chance to get the military glory that he craved, yet had been denied to him multiple times. Assuming Gaius was still happy to go ahead with it, he proceeded to ask questions.*
So will you be campaigning in spain with me as you second in command, or shall I be legatus of the legion, while you stay at the senate to control the senators.
I am assuming, and hoping, I shall be in control of the allied legion but I wanted to confirm this.

It is a shame that you can't lead the legions yourself?
*Spurius' eyes showed a moment of genuine pity, although this went when he rememebered what he was gaining from it.*

It shall depend on the situation, and of course my colleague Poplicola. As of now, depending on the army assigned to me by the Senate and unless things go sour here in Rome, i was going to have you accompany me to Spain. To avoid any issues with Imperium and the likes with the senate, you shall, if willing, serve under me as Legatus. However, i envy you as this will mean you get to be at the front, while i sit on my horse far back in the rear, merely...observing.. I shall give you orders to use whatever means you feel best to win the battle with minimal losses, and grant you tactical command of all the cohorts in the legion. However, i shall from time to time send orders via runner if i feel they need to be carried out..does this sit alright with you Spurius? For legal and political reasons i cannot give you direct control of the legion, but i shall make sure you are recognized as a commander and a most important part of this operation, where my legion is concerned at the very least.

OOC: Do you have MSN or AIM or some means of communication while your playing the turn/battle? That would be best but i trust your judgment too Think Antony and Caesar lol

*Spurius face lit up, this is what he had been hoping for, since that pesky election interfered with his planned campaign*
I am totally fine with that. It is indeed an enviable position. I will, of course, perform to the best of my abilities. If it is all the same to you I would prefer if I could lead the allied legion, and I have developed a loyalty and it would be an honour to serve with them like I originally intended. These men may lack the training and experience of the other legion, but they do not posess a certain pig headeness that I see all too often in the Roman legion's centurians.

OOC: I have msn and xfire, which I can use msn on while I play games, so I'm fine with communicating.
