Howdy my names Chazz, 39yrs old, married, retired ARMY(infantry), Disabled Veteran, I enjoy long walks blah blah blah.
I've owned all the TW titles but napoleon. I keep getting the itch to play RTW again every so often. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I played on my lap when I've been deployed. I've just recently stumpled onto the mods and the modding community. I've intalled EB, Roma Surrectum, and SPQR. How do I go about loading/playing them. Are they compatable? Should I install just one and try it? Sorry the huge post. I'm dying to try them out. I've played most of the TW with no patches due to no internet while deployed. So just being able to download is awesome. Thanks for any help in advance. Chazz
If you'd rather talk over the phone let me know in a PM I'll give you my number. I know typing a lot sucks.

Well, you know how it says "make sure you have a clean install" of Rome on each one? That means for each one. For some you don't *need* to have a different Rome install to play with - for example, EB is modfoldered, so you can theoretically install another modfoldered mod to the same Rome install, but it's not a good idea - RS, however, cannot be used with any other mods, as it changes the basic data. So if you wanted those three mods on the same computer, you would have to install them to three different locations (C:/Rome1, C:/Rome2, or whatever). RS will not allow you to play the original game, EB will, don't know about SPQR.
As for installing them - just follow the directions given at each mod's subforum and you should be alright. To play, they should give a shortcut that will open up the game (for example, with EB - that's the only mod I've played - you can keep your normal Rome Shortcut, as they provide a different .exe to play EB for SP and MP).
If you have specific questions or problems, you should probably check the subforum for whichever mod you're having problems with to see if there's a generic 'installation problems' guide or an FAQ, then ask questions there if you can't find anything.
I beat back their first attack with ease. Properly employed, E's can be very deadly, deadlier even than P's and Z's, though they're not as lethal as Paula Abdul or Right Said Fred.

Firstly, welcome to the FNG. I was 11B myself. Secondly, you should really try them one at a time. Safer on the comp and extends playing time as you platy each one untill you tire of it.
Cool to see someone only just starting to absorb the fun. If you are only just done with unmodded SP, then you still got a lot of stuff to look forward to in the terms of mods, and after that even MP. Good luck out there in the field.
If you pm me here, i'll ask on the forums about you first. As far as my land line number I use for that its no biggie(comcast that you can fight the sells calls and surveys for my time) , Besides if you called and and pissed me off I'd just put your number on craigslist in the hairy man love section This looks like great community. Thanks for all the fast help. and welcomes. Which mod would you try first?

I'm a big war history buff. From the early greek vs persian accounts of battle to the present. I feel that mod is tainting the historical value somehwat. I loved the movies and the books (I own the orgiginal animated films "the hobit" and the following tirlogy". Not denying it might fun. But I want to play the "real mods" where the "real men" are. I'm looking forward to the Roma Surrrectum mod though. Again thanks for the tips and the warm welcomes. I look forward to playing and discussing the likes dislikes and who knows maybe even contributing something worth a damn one day besides an opinion.
PS Does this forum need donations or the modders' ? A lil beer goes along way on a night of coding.
I'm not saying I wont try it. I wouldnt call it the future though. Isnt that suppose to 3000 years ago or something like that? I just want to enjoy the revamped RTW first. Even then I have TW2 midievil to mod.
I've read the install thread and I have Quick Noobquestions. I'm trying to activate the script and what via the advisor/ show me how tab. My tab is whitened out? I'm both sure and hoping this is something I'
m over looking. I'm using xp pro. Do the mods effect single player? I'm not quite ready to throw my self to the wolves. Nor do I want to waiste anothers time by not being much help.
ps I posted this on the EB forum. No response even after a few hours.

EB doesn't affect normal SP, but RS does; I don't know about others. Similarly (as I said earlier), installing multiple mods to a single RTW install can affect the mods, so installing EB and RS to the same RTW would result in EB not working.

After reading this, I went and checked it ... took me a moment to realize you'd posted in a previous thread instead of starting a new one. No biggie, though.

Well, to be totally honest I'm not entirely sure what's going on. This is what you should see:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Alright, so you start the game and click on a city:
Then, you follow his instructions to click the "Show Me How" button:
And he immediately exits:
Now, if what's wrong is that the "Show Me How" button is greyed out (and therefore unselectable), the only thing I can think is that there's some kind of error in the script, like in this thread: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=157988
If that's the case, unless you know where the problem is and can fix it, a reinstall on a clean RTW install would probably be the best solution.

I'm probably going to try RS first. Then. I have tried a clean install twice already with EB. I've tried Eb twice by its self. I'm going to wade through my registry to make sure everything is gone. Wish me luck. I may wait til I'm sober tomorow.
