    Default Watchtower Mod?

What the title says. Basically im hoping that someones made a Watchtower Mod for the game, as I hate having FOW around Isengard, the Misty Mountains, the Gondor/Rohan mountains etc.

Has anyone made one for 2.1? =)

Is ppermanent watchtowers easily pleced form start fo the game like forts. A permanent watctower mod would be easy if you make one the rest is just copying and changing coordinates

How would I go about determining the co ordinates of the Middle Earth Map? For one I've modded quite a bit, but I've never dared touch the campaign map =P

On campaign map open console and enter cheat show_cursorstat to display coordinates at cursor location.

GeoMod would be usefull if you're going to do this yourself - it will be very easy, then. I can look up a link if you want me to.

I tried adding watchtowers using descr_strat but due to the terrain its not possible. I may be wierd but I seriously hate having a map with FOW in my lands if you understand me. Even though its only the mountain ranges it still has me tortured =(

Yeah, it really gets my goat too... Whenever I play Med II on any mod, the first thing I do is build roads. The second thing I do is build watchtowers...

    =(

I wonder if it would be possible for a more experienced mapper to maybe implement watchtowers into the mountain ranges in Middle Earth? It would decisively make me defect permanently to 3rd Age from SS =P

Ha! So it is not only me <relief>

Do not forget about one, freaking blindspot in Mirkwood. If I am not wrong, it is not reachable by any watchtower.

    Cursed Morgoth-worshipping evil unassailable FOW....

Kill for the love of killing. Kill for the love of Kali! Kill! Kill! Kill!

    *coughs*

    Umm... Yeah.
Invisible watchtowers in the mountain ranges would be really nice.

But i agree it would be nice to have pre-made watchtowers along a settlements borders/roads, because the first thing I do as well is make watchtowers everywhere, and its a really time (and money!) consuming process if your a large nation (like gondor, mordor, harad, eraidor, ect. . ect. . ect).

This posts has it all, including a link to a good tutorial on how to use GeoMod.

I usually just use the add money cheat (i know... ...) use character_reset and build watchtowers to the initial blind spots, but i really don't like doing this much :/

But inaccesible mountains are inaccesible, no matter how much money you add. Better to move_character (but without money cheat!) as you can sometimes reach place you would not normally normally.

The only way to get watchtowers in places like the Misty Mountains is to change the terrain (AFAIK) of a particular spot of that mountain in maps/base/descr_terrain.txt. Problem is that I dont want to risk aesthetically destroying the map, as I am far too inexperienced at mapping =/
