What's in your MOD???
I was hoping to start a thread where forum members could talk about stuff they've done in their personal MODs...
* Share what you've done { IE. File, Model, Map,Text, and other various modifications}
* Link: How-to sources you used if you deem it necessary or to help those that are interested.
All this info should generate interest in new or non-modding members to become TW modders and see why so many people love modding MTW2...
* Pics: Pictures are encouraged, as they are one of the best ways to capture the many wonders of personal modding possibilities.
I think that the oldest pic I have is of a Spartan unit I made, it was based off of an Aztec spearman model...textures where taken from Rome Total War texture files and run thru Photoshop. Weapon changes { IE. type and placement } and a few clothing changes {all skirts instead of under briefs} were made in Milkshape.

These are some of the first moves I made into modding...They're very rudimentary examples but they show what even a novice modder can do to make something that might make the game more appealing to them or their imagination rather...
Things have changed considerably since then, those pics are from my imagshack account. I only have the shield textures left from that model...Computer crashes and rebuilds have taken most evidence of my original works. This is why its always good to make backups of what you care to save.
For whatever reason most of my modding has been based off of the English faction. It is the faction I will more than likely play in a modified campaign.
The Spartans were produced to fill the need to have spartans in-game after watching 300...
Right now I've started a fresh MOD on a Hybrid harddrive which makes the process of starting a game and checking your changes much faster.
I chose Dave Scarface'e GKCM, which was originally an alternate to the Retrofit MOD, both adding Kingdoms features to Vanilla MTW2 { IE. Boiling oil, Flaming Barrels, Perminate forts, etc.} GKCM added a Big map and he had awesome forum member support and tried to do everything his fans wanted. I have a version that is based off the original changes mentioned above plus the addition of Jerusalem and Antioch factions { He's made many versions since, I think Retrofit is still just a minimod option with kingdoms addins if you don't want Irish faction or various other GKCM addins and coops (IE. XAI modifications}.
I've cleaned out the entire txt files
replaced all vanilla units
created a Japanese faction to replace Timurids
Family members live to a hundred something
Mongols appear before the 10th turn
Japan faction based on island off the east coast of Spain
Aztecs based in Milan
No recruitable diplomats, spys, or priests { factions start with one if any of these units}
No peasant units
No Rebal armies or ships
Seige weapons recruitable only at citidal level walls
Cannon Elephant can breakdown walls { this is an example of weapon modding}
These are just a few modifications made over many years of modding, feel free to ask Why, WTF, or How questions...
Other than that please post what you've done with your personal MODS...
