Gig. Your tutorial is the one i'm refrencing too. when i get to the point of saying what the program will allow for users ( the one with all those checks ) my computer already had everything checked for all forms of users, (SYSTEM, Admin, My user, User/my user/). The game still wouldn't work properly. Irish, I haven't gone to indepth in that tutorial because everyone said it wasn't safe. (got this laptop during christmas)
Should I try Irish's way?
Nothing to lose. The first thing I did after installing Win 7.
Odd. Instead of Hyrule Picture i get a Medieval II Picture. The loading screens are Medieval II, the Main Menu is Medieval II, and when I click on Grand Campaign, it asks me "Please select a file to play"
Do I e-download Hyrule Mod from the begining or no?
Just reinstalling it should fix it.
I guess it was never meant to be. Hyrule didn't work even the slighest now. I'm just gonna delete everything and wait till an Actual Hyrule comes out, (doubt it).
Oh well, The Total War Series is still great without Hyrule. Now I can focus on submitting gameplay footage to Youtube to show everyone tips and tricks, (regardless of my skill or theirs).
Thanks anyway for yalls help.
You're welcome.
Before being totally disoltioned with Hyrule, why not contact them with your troubles and possibly helpthem fix it for the next player? They may not be aware of it.
I will. Thanks again
A M2TW launcher replacement has been released by a member at the Steam forum. Feel free to try it and get rid of the annoying musicAdded the link to the first post as well.
Support will have to be through the Steam forum!
just installed this mod and dun all the steam install guide i have a problem all the vids av seen for this mod most units have well over 100 men. but all i get in unit is max 65 men the game works no crash at all have i dun sumthin wrong
Ok,so i have already downloaded kingdoms gold from steam. i then downloaded third age total war, and when I tried to open it it said could not find "kingdoms exe." so i tried reinstallation but it didnt work. so i came to this Steam launcher, downloaded it, tried to do the steps in the tutorial, but in the example in step 3 it shows Call of Warhammer being already under the mods folder, whereas on my computer third age is not. I am now stuck. i have a 64-bit computer, found the third age folder, and tried to change the install directory to as it was shown. i changed it to the exact form shown at the top of this page for 64-bit, but then it says "windows cannot find...check spelling and try again." Any help or reason why this is happening would be greatly appreciated.
Ask the Third Age forum.
Call of Warhammer was used as an example, it is not required. Use Third Age instead.
If a mod cannot find the kingdoms.exe file then it is installed into the wrong folder.
If you have installed M2TW into the default path, then it should be here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\medieval ii total war
All you have to do is to cut\paste the Third_Age folder into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\medieval ii total war\mods folder and then follow the instructions from step 1. Please note that the desktop short cut will now not work and you will have to use the regular launcher.
But where do you get the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\medieval ii total war\mods folder to cut and paste the third age folder into? When i change the default path to that, it says "windows cannot find...check spelling and try again."
1. Locate the Third_Age folder (right click the desk top shortcut, choose 'properties' and then 'open file location')
2. Locate your Medieval II Total War folder (see first post for possible locations), it will have a sub folder called 'mods' (unless you haven't got any kingdoms campaigns installed).
3. Cut and paste the Third_Age into that 'mods' folder.
4. Run the Steam Installer tool again.
5. Your desktop icon will now not work anymore, but then you are supposed to use the launcher anyhow, delete it.
thanks
no. third age was already in the mods folder, and when i tried to change the folder path again i got hung up at the common folder, where total war wasnt in there. i just decided to dgaf and buy it from a different site. thanks anyway though.
You could try to find your M2TW installation by searching for this file: medieval2.exe
You might also have problems with the virtual store.
