Just got the tool but I cant browse for the .cfg file and the language thing isn't there either. Is there something wrong with the tool?
Hey,
I just used everything for using the mod with steam (I think correctly), but I'm still getting the "unhandled exception" error when I try to run it from the kingdoms launcher. Any help?![]()
Please post this matter in the development thread - it seems to have a technical side to it.
wow this a great tool, thanks to squid and gigantus!
it took me half an hour to download the mod and about one minute to install, thanks very much to both of you + rep!!
How do I remove unwanted mods from the kingdoms launcher? I have deleted the mod from the mods folder however it is still an option on the launcher
EDIT: Figured it out, had to goto regedit![]()

Have you asked in their forum?
Maybe a virtual store issue. Try this tutorial (don't forget deleting the M2TW folder in the Virtual Store) and then try again: How To Fix UAC and VirtualStore Problems
Hi there,
I'm also trying to run the Hyrule Total War mod, and have followed this tutorial to add the mod to my Kingdoms launcher. My mod subdirectory has no backslashes at the end. Whe ntrying to run the mod from the Kingdoms launcher, I get the CA_LIBS fatal error, but there is no system log either in the root MedII directory or in the "logs" subfolder. The original game and all kingdoms expansions run fine; I have redownloaded the mod, and tried reinstalling it twice. I am running Vista x64, and have purchased the game on Steam.
Also, it is indeed the Kingdoms.exe file I've pointed Squid's program to, not the original game, as the mod requires.
Any ideas as to where this problem stems from? Others seem to have the mod working, which is confusing.
Thanks!
Fixed; I had the mod installed to "mods/hyrule", but the .cfg was trying to find "mods/Hyrule". Hah, how silly. Thanks regardless!
(Sorry for double post, meant to edit. Whoops.)
Can you explain this a bit more? Is your mod using the medieval2.exe or the kingdoms.exe? Also, it is indeed the Kingdoms.exe file I've pointed Squid's program to, not the original game, as the mod requires.

Edit: shouldn't leave windows open unrefreshed for too long....
Finally a way I can try out loads of different mods without having to keep changing the names. Good Job:

Hey, looking for some help. DL'd this tool, ran as admin. The mod 'Otherworld' (which hasn't been touched for some time, so that may be the reason none of this works) calls for me to use kingdoms. Added the correct Path, however no config file popped up. Tried it again, restarted steam, restarted the program etc.. nothin'.
The DL came with a few \data files, the \mods files, a .lnk file (which is irrelevant, because it's basically a shortcut for the mod if I'm not mistaken), and the config file. The \data and \mods folders are both 'merge' folders on the copy/paste, so that took a few seconds and is hard to mess up. However, I'm not sure where the config file is supposed to go. The mod calls for it to be in the \Medieval II Total War directory, but I'm not sure if a) it's different for steam or b) it's changed between patches/kingdoms expansion.
Running windows 7. Also, some more info. If I don't use this program and do everything the mod says by hand with copy/paste and editing the 'start in' and 'target' properties of the .lnk so they suit launching via steam, the loading screen pops up but instantly shuts down and gives me the message 'Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit. Life sucks for you!'

This would be a place to start, it will solve a few other problems as well - start with step 3.
A regular mod structure would require for the mod to reside in it's own folder in the mods directory, eg ...\Medieval II Total War\mods\MyMod
The necessary BAT and CFG file are then in the MyMod folder. The data folder is a subfolder of MyMod.
Once you have sorted that, try the tool again.
You sir, are a goddamn saint.
Hi there. I recently downloaded the Medival Launcher, Hyrule mod, and attempted the UAC. I have the same problem as NEET and can't find the UAC at all.
Where did I mess up?
