Creating a World - Mod Install for Steam

The latest RodG version runs on steam by simply clicking the desktop short cut - you need to install the patch and quick fix from here.

I tried. I got the error message "windows cannot find 'kingdoms.exe' . Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again.

Then you don't have the latest version. But it's an easy fix: go into your main Medieval II Total War folder and make a copy of medieval2.exe and rename that copy to kingdoms.exe
Now start any mod with it's desktop shortcut.

I seem to be running into a problem Installing this mod, When I try to install the first part it gets to about 5% then the installer asks me to insert disc 2. I have the steam version + Kingdoms exp. Needless to say I am not the most comp savy guy and have exhausted my knowledge as to rectify the problem. Other then downloading the mod again and starting from scratch. Any help/advice would be greatly aperciated

The Universal Mod Launcher brings up tons of virus warnings for me. Is it really necessary to use this program, or is there another way I can get Rage of the Dark Gods to work correctly?

Make a copy of your medieval2.exe file and rename it to kingdoms.exe - RodG should have a fix already in one of the patches (corrected BAT file).

Check the path to Third Age - it should be medieval ii total war\mods\third_age (third_age or similar)

Its in (program files (x86) / SEGA / Medieval II Total War / mods / Third_Age_3). What do I do now ?

Installation path is correct - very likely wrong rename\spelling of the exe as Frunk suggests.

At present (after July 2014 Steam update) the tool is obsolete - use this method instead to start your mod in steam.
