[Americas] How to deal with the plague?

Im playing as the Aztecs and my armies are being destroyed by the plague and my cities are becomming empty because of all the people dieing. Is there any way to slow down the plague? or get it out of my cities? (no file editting or cheats please)

Don't let New Spain take the following settlements:

• Tenochitlan
• Apaztignan
• Zacategas
• Canpech

I think there are some other settlements, but I'm not sure. Make sure you kill them right after you finish the Tlaxcalans. New Spain can be devastating if left alone.


If a character or army from a plagued city into an unplagued city, the plague will spread. Which is bad.


You can use it to your advantage by moving a plagued spy into an unplagued enemy city. Keep in mind you'll probably conquer any Tlaxcalan or New Spain cities, so I advise you to send them north to Tarascan or Chichimecan cities, or south to the Maya.

When the Spaniards capture Apatzignan the plague spreads in these cities:-

1. Apatzignan
2. Zacapu
3. Ocotlan
4. Tecoman

Zacatecas

When the Spaniards capture Zacatecas the plague spreads in these cities:-

1. Zacatecas
2. Colotan

Canpech

When the Spaniards capture Canpech the plague spreads in these cities:-

1. Canpech
2. Uxmal
3. Chichen Itza
4. Chetumal
5. Althun Ha
6. Tikal
7. Xicalango
8. Yaxchilan
