Crashing

When I bought the game everything worked fine for about 6 months or so. After a while stuff with my graphics went nuts. I turned them down and things went fine, then I tried to play a coalition campaign and when I go to take a turn its freezes then crashes. I have no idea what to do with this so if anyone knows whats going on please help me. Also whats odd is that the Peninsular Campaign still works.

Possibly corrupted files. There's some verify function on Steam that can correct it if it is that. After that you could check and see what resident programs your computer runs and turn some off if there is too many.

Mine will occasionally crash near the END of a battle. That is very annoying. I'll have spent 45 minute or so on a large battle and have it in hand when it crashes. Ugh. Fortunately, it isn't more than maybe 1 out of every 20 large battles, but still highly annoying.

Does anyone use this game with windows 7? I regulary get the message: An error has occured this game will now close.
Do you also have this problem?

Oggie & Rotaugen, I use windows 7 and 64bit. No problems at all, never. Let me offer what bit you use, you use 32bit windows 7 or Windows Vista 32bit and your game mainly crashes at battles? If I'm right, I think I'm right at moment. Just change your windows to Windows 7 64bit and your problems are gone for forever.Battles mainly crashing because they cannot get enough ram to work with such mess, but 64bit Windows 7 lets to use all your memory ram, what is perfect for such game like Total War. 32bit windows is very bad for such game.Have you ever played multiplayer battles & have you noticed that you finish almost none or just none of these battles? About 1 year ago, if I remember correctly my problems started suddenly all my battles crashed in Empire and then Napoleon came out and I didnt finish any of these battles what I fought, always suddenly CRASH and then my hand raised and kicked this damn computer SUDDENLY. But now I use 64bit windows 7 and its perfect!

Actually, I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. And my computer has 6 GB of RAM, so the 64 bit should be able to use all that. I don't have tons of TSRs either. It's only an occasional crash, so I can live with it.

I think Napoleon Total War should be fully bug free for now, so this is not because of the game mate. Go and ask from Irishiron he tells you what is wrongly.

But Home Premium and between Ultimate there is difference. I use ultimate and its with no problems.
