Here's a video of the Soviet Union faction (no sound effects, however):
Other than that, I'd recommend checking out the Videos and Screenshots thread for an idea on what the mod looks like.![]()

How do the russian revolutionaries look? I represented them as best as i can based on my research and the NTW engine but if their uniforms were different I'd be glad to change them based on a photo or something.
As for the barefoot issue, I feel it adds to the variety. There was indeed some evidence of shoe shortages, maybe not so extreme, but its an easy fix if you want to remove it.

Well to start off it's not that your work doesn't look good it's just that it does not represent what a common revolutionary would look like. In the Russian Civil War the Reds had an official uniform which consisted of a typical Soviet trench coat and helmet-styled caps (ushankas and Czarist head-wear were common too). Of course in a time of such chaos some soldiers would keep the dress of their former rank upon joining the Soviets.
You should have made the revolutionaries look more unorganized - without the Napoleonic straps, backpacks, etc

I'v always been against the barefoot soldiers. I think it looks quite stupid. But my team assures me there is historical fact to back up them not having shoes.
@ the team: In the unit.variant, give them heaps of different legs - for lots of variety, every leg you have in your atlas, make one of them a barefoot soldier. Then it will look good, there will also be less barefoot soldiers.

Having less barefoot soldiers, especially not seeing so much of them in snowy areas will make MY feet hurt less![]()

I think the comments are valid for less bare feet they had major shoe shortages but would wear their shoes to death rather than have none at all, the odd soldier with bare feet is good but not alot but thats just my opinion.
As far as the way they look it's not far off here is a photo of some real ones;

AGREED. There is just no way. They would have wrapped bits of cloth and leather, whatever they could find around their feet if they had no shoes. They guy with absolutely no shoes on, in winter, would be dead.
And just think about it, wouldn't you cut a bit of your cuff or sleeve off your jacket so that you had something to walk on? Of course you would.
Guys, like we've said, it may not be 100% historical but it was historical enough for CA and TGW's units are admittedly somewhat lacking in variety (even if Josst's atlas helped a lot). If the bare feet really bother you, feel free to remove them personally or as a sub-mod, its an easy change. In the future the bare feet may become less common in a unit, but I at least remain unconvinced as of now that they are a net negative for the mod.
@Sirota
the pictures I have come across look much more similar to those of "For England Men", and that is what they are modelled after. While I agree about the straps (if they still have them), the helmet-hat, even if possible is not a priority for us atm.

It's not that they bother me, it just looks painful for those little pixels![]()
