Is anyone else unable to fight battles???

I have reinstalled and redownloaded, but still it crashes.

I have no idea what the deal is. I have never modded Napoleon TW before, so it should be clean.

I have run out of ideas...

Answer the following please.

1) All battles cause crashes?
2) Is this just custom battles or campaign or both
3) Is the crash immediate during loading or is it during the course of the battle?
4) Is this for all factions and all units?

I start a campaign as Germany. I build 4 units of the conscription infantry (that takes a turn). I hit end turn. Next turn those units are ready. I march them to Brussels by right clicking on the city. When the untils reach Brussels to attack the game crashes. No siege sreen pops up or anything. The screen goes blank with an error message.

This is troubling indeed. Have you tried a custom battle to see if battles work at all? Or bypassign this battle in the campaign?

With custom battles I cannot even start the battle. I only have 40 dollars (when it is on high money). The Austrian army is missing unit pictures for some units (they are just white).

Well then something is seriously wrong with your download or installation

No I used the .exe

It was sort of a weird install though. It only takes about 5 secs and there is no status bar or anything. But I checked, the files are where they are supposed to be.

BTW, thank you Sama for staying up and helping me with this. I will go into the game and try some other things.

I redownloaded and reinstalled already. It's just very weird.


Is there supposed to be a desktop icon? I have none and must go through steam.

AWESOME NEWS!!!!! It looks like that bug is just for the 2nd turn!!! Austria seems to be fine and Germany worked when I waited to turn 4 to attack Brussels. The custom battle is still all screwed up but at least I can FINALLY PLAY!!!!!!!!

Strange, I can play custom battle fine

mine works fine also,there must be something left over from another mod causing a conflict,because the mod works fine for pretty much everybody else
recommend:
1.uninstall
2.remove the napoleon user script or makesure there is non there(will generate new one with playing the mod)
3. open data folder and makesure there are no mods in there(movie,patch,pack..etc)
4.run the steam gamecache verification to makesure the startpos and vanilla files are correct and set to original
5.test game in vanilla
6.re-install and game should work right

too many times i see the same problem with every mod in the twcenter,everytime the user removes a mod and does not remove it right and leaves something behind and when they install a new mod they have a problem and complain,if you do the steps above everytime you remove a mod and before you install one you should be fine,

you can also use the NTW Data Checker by Mitch, it is in the Tools section of the Mod forum of NTW

For the time being I want to focus on the campaign, custom battle is not super important to me. For the most part the campaign works just fine. I hade some issues fighting russia where I just couldnt play a battle because it crashed while loading. We will see if that was a minor or a major problem.

Ah I think I know your problem in the custom battles, basically for some reason the unit selection screen in the custom battle section is odd when you first go in and switch faction. What you need to do is press the little X that clears the army set up, then it should work with all the units there again

The Brussels issue may be a bug in the startpos then...Just avoid it in that turn and see if attacking it works another time.

we really should remove all the starting armies in custom battles.

i was the americans with 4 marines alot of marine snipers and some machine guns and srtillery batteries(4)

i was fighting the soviets they had
2 patriotic levies,1 siberian, 1 sniper, 5 red guard, some cavalry, i cant remember but mabye some artillery peices
