You have to first install the 1.2 patch to patch the game to 1.3. There should be a download link in one of the stickies.

Are you trying to install kingdoms as well as medieval 2or just the 1.3 patch?

well ive installed Medieval 2 and now im trying to install kingdoms, not just the patch

The Kingdoms installer should install 1.2 for you.

i had this problem too,

your using vista right?

uninstall medieval 2 completely and make sure you install both medieval and kindoms as administrator then it should work

Please guyssssss i need help i can not live with out medieval .. !! i want to uninstall it and then reinstall it again but when i want to install it . this **** error pops up what should i do please help me out guys ...i can not even uninstall it

THE setup installs an earlier version of Medieval II: total war 1.0.0000
you have to uninstall previous version before installing this version .
