    Default Croatia - EU

So I wondered what do foreigners think about Croatia entering EU, which will almost certainly happen during 2011.

So what do you think about it? Good thing, bad, or maybe you wont even feel it?

It'll will be a good development.

Croatia has a prosperous economy, a functioning democracy, and Croatia co-operated fully with the international courts concerning the post-Yugoslavia wars (though in some ways it was lucky for Croatia that Tuđman died before the courts could get to him, I think there would have been a very negative reaction if he had been handed over to justice) . If Slovenia is satisfied with the border negotiations I think Croatia joining the EU will be positive for both sides. Hopefully a few of the other ex-Yugoslavian republics will be able to follow.

I don't want the EU to expand any more, at least for now. I have nothing against Croatia.

I'm not against it, as it seems to have a good economy and as such will not receive and endless supply of cash. But i think that after Croatia the EU should slow down on adding new members. But it looks like it will be good for both sides in the long term, maybe the Dalmatian coast will regain it's tourist hotspot reputation that it had before the 90's.

We could always kick Greece out and replace them with Croatia.

Good to know, that explains a lot about certain members and what people believe about Greece

But "You" can't kick Greece out even if this is your desire, too bad for you EU hasn't made a mechanism to kick out countries

    I am for Croatian membership

Allow me to express my doubts that you have any meritoric argument behind this statement.

Easy: they're a bunch of funny-speaking commie bastards whose women are fond of lesbianism. Obviously they should be evicted from the union immediately.

It does not matter. You can have your 4th reich for all I care, just without us.

Last 2 years have been very clear about the path the EU is following, the path to eurofederalism, international welfare leveling at our expense and now a debt union that will sentence us to poverty. The EU can go to hell, I will be voting Wilders.

No new members at all. The last thing the EU should do now is expand.

In view of our divine essence, we need only liberty and work; in view of our mortal nature, we need for our direction a guide and a support. A government is not then, as a distinguished economist has said, a necessary ulcer; it is rather the beneficent motive power of all social organisation.
